Hi steemit. I have decided to begin a series of car repair videos to show you how to save oooodles of cash. Most MOT failures are due to the simplest of faults and I want to show you how easy(and cheap) it can be to do it yourself.
I have been a qualified Mechanic for 20 years and have worked on vehicles ranging from 80 ton aircraft tugs, to domestic vehicles.
If you do decide to do your own repairs, please STAY SAFE!!!
THESE THINGS WILL MAKE MINCEMEAT OUT OF YOU IF YOU DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THE POSSIBLE DANGERS.
I HAVE SEEN FINGERS CHOPPED OFF AND PEOPLE BEING RESUSCITATED AFTER THEY WERE CRUSHED. THIS IS NOT CHILD'S PLAY! (but it can be easy)
DO NOT remove a wheel without the use of an axle stand. If you can not get one(£15 online) then support the vehicle with large wooden chocks. ( you can also slide the wheel under the car as a final safety net)
Always put a block behind one, or more, of the other wheels and RELEASE the hand-brake. Once the car has settled, then you can begin raising the vehicle of the ground. ( If you like you can put the car 'in-gear' but this will not hold the car enough to be used alone ).
OK, so your good to go. Let's get started.
WAIT WAIT WAIT!!!
TEA! You MUST have a cuppa to do any job on your vehicles. IT IS THE LAW OF THE GREASE MONKEY!! So kettle on I'll have mine with 2 sugars and plenty of milk :)
Any questions are welcome and all work is carried out at your own risk.
Peace to you and yours from @team-solutions and @article61
