The Boston Celtics have traded the 1st overall selection for the 76ers 3rd overall selection, Lakers 2018 First Round Selection (If it lands between 2-5 Overall) or the Kings 2019 First Round Selection (Unprotected) otherwise.
My initial thoughts/reaction to this trade is summarised in the photo below:
It's silly for any Boston fan to think that they are set at guard. Their starters are either great on offense OR defense. Not both. Markelle Fultz certainly has the defensive potential as well as being the shorter, second coming of Tracy McGrady/ Damian Lillard. Additionally, if all the praise about Brad Stevens was true, then who better to guide the young man and realise that potential?
