Train Palma de Mallorca - Soller

Even if you do not consider yourself to be a fan of rail travel, the historic train that runs between Palma de Mallorca and the city of Soller will enchant you with the romance of distant wanderings under the measured rattle of the wheels. The journey takes place in wagons of the early 20th century with a completely preserved original interior. The railroad between the two cities dates back to the same period - the need for its laying was justified by Solier's cut off from the main part of the island by the Tramuntana mountain ranges, so in a phenomenally short time the canvas was laid on serpentines of mountain slopes and also passed through numerous tunnels.

On the day, six trains leave from both extreme points of the route. From the large windows of the cars you can clearly see picturesque mountain landscapes, forests and orchards - sometimes the path lies directly through a fruit grove. On the way the train makes several stops, the most popular is Bunyola, from where you can walk to the gardens of Alfabia.

By the way, in Sóller the journey to the ancient mode does not end: you can change to an electrified tram and go to the port of Soller.
