Amongst the hustle and bustle of Hahndorf is Otto’s Bakery. Located at the end of the Main Street, this bakery is full of luscious lunch items and delicious treats.
If you’re in the Adelaide Hills then this bakery is definitely worth giving a shot. It will fill your belly as well as giving you a smile.
Otto’s Bakery is a delight to visit, and one of the best in the Adelaide Hills. Over the course of this article we’ll tell you the reasons we think you should give it a go.
The Selection
There is a wide variety of items to choose from at Otto’s Bakery. Included in their huge selection are pies, pasties, sandwiches, cakes, biscuits, and drinks. You’ll be able to find something tasty there to satisfy just about anyone.
Whether you are looking for something to take home, or are after lunch from one of the best bakeries in the Adelaide Hills, Otto’s Bakery will have something for you!
One of our personal favourites is the ginormous chocolate doughnuts.
Where to Sit?
Otto’s Bakery is fairly large with seating both inside and outside, if the weather is on the colder side then park yourself inside the warm bakery for your coffee and cake.
If you prefer being outside enjoying the sun, and fresh air, there are tables and chairs along the front of the bakery.
Sitting next to the main street of Hahndorf isn’t for you? You can take your lunch to go, and find somewhere quiet to enjoy a relaxing picnic.
There are some great spots near-by, if you walk back down Main Street and turn right you’ll be at Alec Johnston Park, a great little park with a fenced off play area, great to let the kids run around while you enjoy the fresh air.
If you want to try something else, keep walking up Main Street and turn left after the German Arms hotel, you’ll be at the Pioneer Memorial Garden, another great park with plenty of grassed area to run around, a playground, and plenty of seating.
What Else is Close to Otto’s Bakery?
Being on the Main Street of Hahndorf, Otto’s Bakery is close to a lot of other must see places. There are playgrounds and lolly shops for the kids.
If you’re in Hahndorf on holiday, there are plenty of places to pick up a souvenir, or something for your loved ones back home.
After lunch you could continue along Main Street out of Hahndorf to see the Beerenberg Farm for strawberry picking. There are a multitude of things you could include in your day out to Hahndorf.
If you’re stuck for ideas, have a look at hahndorfsa.org.au, you’re sure to find something the whole family will love.
Hahndorf is an iconic South Australian town, and Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement. Next time you’re down you should add lunch at Otto’s Bakery into your itinerary for the day.
