If you've been following my posts here on Steemit you may have noticed that my stories are occasionally interspersed with song lyrics, or that the titles to my posts and sometimes the headings are also lines from popular songs.
Yes, that's a thing I do.
Because I ❤️❤️❤️ music.
All sorts of music - rock, pop, folk, classical, blues, roots, alt-country, jazz, indie, grunge, punk, prog-rock, world... you name it, I love it.
Even as I wrote the title of this story, immediately a song came to mind, and now it's playing in the back of my mind as I write this. It really is like there is a constant jukebox playing songs from my Unconscious Mind when I am in a creative mode.
I´ve been cheated by things I´ve seen
And all I´ve learned in school
I´ve been cheated by TV screens
And artificial families too
— The Soundtrack Of Our Lives
I have referred to this sentiment in the past as the "Rock aesthetic". It's the fascination with music to the point where it almost becomes obsession. Those who possess this aesthetic usually have large music collections - most likely shelves of vinyl, or literally gigabytes of music in their iTunes library. They will know tonnes of useless trivia on bands, singers, performers, and record labels. They will also probably usually dress in band T-shirts they've picked up from numerous concerts they attend.
have you ever seen the film High Fidelity? John Cusack's character's whole life is expressed by his love and knowledge of Rock music. He doesn't even have the words to be able to express his feelings without resorting to creating mix-tapes for his girlfriend. While in some respects, that's quite sad, this kind of aesthetic lends itself to being creative in the act of curation. This is what DJ's do all the time, and they attract massive audiences of followers and fans who love the unique mix of different tunes they create into a soundscape.

But what about all the other stories I've published on Steemit?
Well, since they have been syndicated from my blog Pandora's Lost Gift, the soundtrack to those stories are only available to subscribers to me (free) Email Periodical À Bric Et À Brac, which you can subscribe to for more exclusive content that won't appear on Steemit or on the website.
In the meantime, I hope you continue to enjoy the tunes as well as my stories, where ever you read them.
I would like to see this turn into a type of radio show or podcast in the future, hosted on a Discord server or maybe on DLive (or both). But we'll see what happens in the meantime, hey?
Thanks for reading, for voting, and for sharing my work.
I really, really appreciate it. Steem is the best social media platform/s by far - and it's because we are building community.
Keep on Steeming, folks.
