Metal detecting for old silver coins, predecimal coins dating back as far as 1780. I always do historical research of where people used to gather together 100 years ago in order to try and find lost money and valuables.
Very close to where we live there is a head land over looking the ocean that is over grown now, and was a popular location for camping and fishing.
So i decided to try my luck and the first sound I had was an old copper penny, as I progressed I started to unearth 95% sterling silver coins. All up in value I found $1000.00 worth of silver coins and a tub full of pennies.
It always pays to do research and think about where you're going to detect.
Tub full of pennies.
That's a pretty impressive hunt, may be these coins will have more value from a historical point of view ?

Yes the soil is salty by the ocean and it looks like they used to play 2 up and loose coins.
