In the Beginning - The Early Days of the #TeamAustralia PALnet MSP Discord Channel

Team Australia PALnet Chat Room

Tonight I was feeling a little nostalgic and decided to take a look at @Ausbitbank's early post on @Centerlink's early setup: @centerlink is open for business - these steemians are being sponsored so far.

This then got me thinking about the regular chatters in the early days of the #TeamAustralia #MinnowSupportProject chat room so I decided to take a looksy and see who was the first poster and the earlier contributors in that channel.

The first piece of invaluable information contributed to the channel was from the British Ambassador and all-round good guy @Tremendospercy on 15/6/2017:

This was closely followed by @Ausbitbank with his first comment in the channel:

@Sirknight, the master behind getting the #TeamAustralia community started was there to say Hi:

I jumped into the channel and added some wise words of my own:

@Tomekkk was an early trendsetter of talking crap in the channel too!

The wonderful @choogirl came and said Hello early on:

And not too long after she became the official recruiter for the community:

@Gohba.handcrafts was there in those early days too, well before he became the Grand Pubah:

@shellyduncan was around:

@bearone was there too:

11.jpeg

@krystle was a big supporter from the beginning:

And @Ausbitbank was there to provide the knowledge, know-how and SP to build the accounts to support #TeamAustralia in it's early days:

In the early days, most of us had very little SP and were here to chat and support each other through. The channel has grown way beyond what it was 8 months ago and it's exciting to see the amazing work and contribution by all the newer members to the community too.

There were many other users in the channel during these times too and there are just too many to acknowledge in one post.

I would like to acknowledge the contribution of our original #TeamAustralia secretary @SirKnight for his foresight and knowledge in starting this awesome community. This is the first post from @SirKnight establishing #TeamAustralia and the foundation membership list: STEEMIT OFFICIAL PRESS SUBMISSION: 'TEAM AUSTRALIA' ESTABLISHED - 11 JUNE 2017.

I would also like to acknowledge the great foresight of @Aggroed and @Ausbitbank for establishing the #MinnowsupportProject and helping minnows grow. I know that this helped me immensely, particularly in the early days of my time on steemit.

Sometimes it's nice to look back on the humble beginnings of the community and see how much it has grown....

Thanks for reading.

Ahh, the memories.
Hard to believe it was that long ago, time flies when your part of the greatest team on Steemit.
Thanks for the reminder Scotty.
Whoa TeamGB did that ever die a death 😂😂

Team what???? Lucky you had the greatest country on earth to keep you on your toes!

Exactly!
I tried mate as @sirknight was desperate for the Aussies to have the 'old foe' to humiliate but it never really got going. I cared too much about TA and never got any help. Believe it or not @choogirl was the most helpful in sending recruits as she's such an awesome networker but after Steemwars it was over.
@teamaustralia all the way buddy, I may have left Oz but my heart never did!

I'm so glad I stumbled upon this post @scooter It sort of humanizes the unidentifiable tagnames and puts me at ease a little more about chatting in discord. It is also very inspiring to see the dedication and effort the team have put in over the months to encourage each other and the newbies as they step out into the deep waters you guys swim in every day. I look forward to the day when I can ditch the ' Floaties,' progress from treading water and learn to swim with confidence (:

Hear hear! So great to see the same names around now. Things have really grown and changed but the beating heart remains the same.

this is freaking awesome. So much has changed but so much stays the same

Thanks to all you guys for starting teamaustralia, I appreciate it and probably would have given up steemit if not for the support from teamaustralia.

Very cool Scooter... It took me a few weeks to make my way to Discord, but I remember some of the early competitions in Centerlink, like the best bogan excuse for not being able to work etc... Go TeamAustralia! and nice work Ausbitbank and co...

Go #teamaustralia. So much support from you guys. Great community, so glad to be a member!

Wow what a trip down memory lane, it really seems like Team Aus has always been here. <3

Wow, not that long ago, and yet so long ago.

So great to see. Thanks for this. I just came back to the chat yesterday after a long hiatus. Great to see all of you guys again!

Seriously, how many of us would have walked away in our first couple of weeks after pumping hours into $0.01 posts without Team Australia to perk us up and introduce us all to our brand new besties!

The TA Discord is easily my find of the Millennium, it makes me so happy every day.

owo, a very nice post friends
