Mr Squiggle – The #TeamAustralia Curation Martian

Dear #TeamAustralia members and community,

Over the past month or so I have watched as #TeamAustralia has grown. As a foundation member of this team, I have been lucky to benefit from building relationships and the support from this community and I have been thinking for a little while about how I can give back to everyone and continue to grow the community.

I was one of the first to curate trail the @Centerlink account and posted instructions on how to do that HERE. This initiative from @ausbitbank has helped many members, particularly when we were first starting out here on the Steem platform and we have all benefited from his foresight and generosity.

I currently support a core group of TeamAustralia members who consistently post great content and have built some great friends and an awesome network in the #TeamAustralia DiscordPAL Channel.

But what about all of the other TeamAustralia members, particularly the newer users to the platform? What can I do to encourage other Team Members to recognise and upvote other great content being produced in this community. At the moment we don’t have any dedicated way of promoting the great content being produced by our community.

Enter – Mr Squiggle – The Man from the Moon

You may remember Mr Squiggle and Friends from the ABC as a child. Mr Squiggle would come down from the moon in his rocket ship and produce some fantastically creative drawings with help of his friends, Gus the Snail, Bill the Bulldozer and the ever grumpy ‘Blackboard’.

I have created the Mr Squiggle account to do something similar. To recognise creativity and support friends and the community of #TeamAustralia.

The purpose of Mr Squiggle is to support #TeamAustralia members in the following ways:

• Post a Curation Article once or twice a week with the top 5 to 10 standout posts produced by #TeamAustralia members
• 100% upvote the posts included in the weekly Curation Article – submissions from other team members recognising fantastic content will be considered too
• Auto curate @Centerlink to upvote ALL #TeamAustralia member posts – adding additional SP to the curation trail
• Promote content from newer users to help them stand out and assist with building their SP and therefore, the community as a whole
• Submit the top content post weekly to @Curie and other larger curation accounts
• Promote and grow better quality posts within the #TeamAustralia community

How am I going to do this?

I have committed my own STEEM and SBD to purchase delegation for Mr Squiggle to build his Voting Power. I have started with 500SP to help him sharpen his pencil and will continue to delegate my own SP and purchase more delegation for Mr Squiggle wherever I can so he can contribute to the wider #TeamAustralia community. If you would like to contribute someway through delegation or donations, please feel free to do so. Anything will be welcomed with open arms.

Sifting through the ever-growing #teamaustralia posts will be time consuming, but worth it for the community. Other community members can also submit posts to be considered for inclusion in the weekly ‘Curation Article’.

What am I asking of you, the members of #TeamAustralia?

• Resteem the weekly/bi-weekly posts from Mr Squiggle
• Choose a few posts from the Curation Article each week to upvote to reward and promote content from other #TeamAustralia members
• Choose posts from the Weekly Curation Article of members you would not normally upvote to give them a boost and recognise their good work
• Resteem any of the posts you think are worthy
• Give Mr Squiggle a follow so you don’t miss his curation post
