Coming to Australia =Part 2=

Since i have explained in the last article, how i came to Australia. I am going to talk about the day of arrival in Australia today.
I have left Japan in year 2000. I have headed to Townsville which located an hour south from Cairns by flight. I have arrived in Cairns by international flight from Japan and have transfered to domestic flight to Townsville. When i have arrived to Townsville, my new host father was there to warm welcome me at the airport. when i met him first, he looked nice and friendly but i have noticed that he had a missing finger in the one of his hand. i thought may be he had an accident or something and lost his finger. However, in Japanese culture, it means that Yakuza who is Japanese mafia tend to have missing finger. So when i have met him first at the airport and saw his finger, i was really worried where he was going to take me. 😅
We arrived his house. He introduced me his partner and her daughter. They were nice and welcomed me home.I had very limited English back then. I couldnt communicate well with the family. So i have spent lots of time listening their conversation. I have missed an opportunities to even ask my host father what happened to his finger back then. Now that he passed a way recently.

I have spent next 6months with them. I have gradually improved my English.

During the day, I studied English for purpose of Entry to the University.

There were limited number of Japanese students and lots of international students from all over the world.
I have met a first friend since my arrival. Her name is Ksenia. She is from Rossia. She spoke English incredibly well. She was always very inspirational how she spoke. She was my first friend in Australia. since year 2000, we both have went through a lot in Australia but we are still a good friend😊
