To all of those Canadians out there, Gord Downie was probably a important part of at least one major memory. If you aren't Canadian you may not even know who Gord Downie is.
Downie was the front man of one of the biggest Canadian Cult bands ever, The Tragically Hip. They are a group of guys from Kingston Ontario who filled most of thier lyrics with Canadian History and Lore. This like Fifty Mission Cap
Gord was diagnosed with a terminal form or Brian Cancer in 2015 and the Hip went on a final tour across Canada that touched the hearts of many.
I have two go to Hip songs anytime I pull them into my playlist. My favourite is definitely Wheat Kings. It always takes my back to my summers in high school when I worked at Port Burwell Provincial Park.
To any of you who listened to the Tragincally Hip, please take out you old CD's or Cassette tapes and enjoy a few tunes.
For those of you who have never heard of them, I encourage you to check them out today in honour of Gordie!
Here are links to a few of my favourites.

Sad day for Canadian music fans and Canadians in general. Gord was a legend. I still remember watching the hip play in Toronto a few months back, while Gord was battling cancer. He is a true legend. RIP Gord.
Wheat Kings is definitely one of the best
