First. Go do some homework on which mobile operator is giving promotion to attract new customers. The competition is fierce right now and you should take advantage of it. At the time of posting this article, the W mobile operator is having a promotion of RM79 deal for unlimited amount of data.
Go ahead sign up with them if you want because I personally think they are a decent mobile operator but if you want a tip on how to get your mobile operator to offer you a better plan, read ahead.
Now, go sign up with them anyway and express your intention of porting out of your current mobile operator. They will ask you to go through the sign up process. Do it anyway.
Wait for one day or two. Expect a call from a tele-marketer from your existing mobile operator to make the final ditch to keep you with them. Tell them their plan is expensive and you found a new deal outside. They should come with a counter-offer to match what you are getting.
Say yes and voila... enjoy your upgraded phone plan!
This quick post is solely an experiment I pulled out based on personal experience. I can't say it works for everybody, and I am pretty sure you have to be a post-paid subscriber who have patronized them for a period of time in order to get them to come back to you. But if you have an outdated plan, no harm to give it a try and let me know how it goes.
