Fellow Steemians in Malaysia

Recently just over a week ago , as you already have heard ... our govt has now enforced the ANTI FAKE NEWS LAWS in Malaysia.

https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2018/04/11/anti-fake-news-act-receives-royal-assent/

What is “fake news”?

Its defined as "news, information , data and reports which is fake entirely or even partially fake. This applies if its visual, features or even audio recordings in any form capable of suggesting ideas or words."

When is it an offence and more details

How does that affect me ?

The STEEM Blockchain

So in relation to the news above and knowingly that once the blog is published on STEEMIT, after 7 days you can neither delete nor edit the post. I do discourage Malaysians from blogging unverified news / reports especially with the GENERAL ELECTION just around the corner.

TeamMalaysia Discord Channel

As part of teammalaysia we do not support any unverified news / reports and will take necessary action on posts promoted thru our discord channel to ensure that the community remains apolitical as its not a venue to rant about politics.

Summary

With STEEM being a decentralized platform, This does not meant that you are banned from writing your views on the politics as that is your own blogs and you are sharing it with your own followers.

Fake news has become a global phenomenon, but Malaysia is at the tip of the spear in trying to fight it with an anti-fake news law,”

Soon gov will abolish “Fake Taxi 🚕” 😂😂😆😆.. if u know what i mean !! 😜

Yeah man

The thing is it will be harder and harder as times passes to discern real news from fake news.

That is true and it is of concern by many admins

Thats a good step that they have done. Fake News are everywhere right now. A step like that should be taken in social media websites as well as "Facebook"

Enjoy your weekend :)

It's enforced countrywide and I do believe all admins are taking precautions looking feed coming into their group

I am amazed with Malaysia's neighbor country.
