Turning 22

Dear Calvin,
This is a note for you! A note to take time to appreciate those who helped you along the way.
Did you still remember that one night when you wished for super powers to change the world? You were so funny back then that when you came to know about meteor shower, you stayed awake till 6am and watch the meteor shower. You wished that you can fly or have some kind of Human Torch ability to rule and dominate the world. So funny of you! But today, you have that one ability that the galaxy has granted you. Can you guess what is it?

The ability to stay positive even at tough times. ( How is that even an ability?)
Well, do you still remember when you were in depression back in 2015? Your life was so dark that you wanted to end your life? Do you still remember you nearly stabbed yourself with a kitchen knife but the laughter of your siblings from the living room stopped you? You put back the knife and sobbed. You told yourself you needed some kind of help and wanted to get out of depression but you had no one to share your pain and sorrow with.
You went to the temple and prayed for an answer! You prayed for help and soon it came right? You prayed and prayed for few months till your 3rd mentor brought you over to meet your 5th mentor. When he questions you how much you love her and who is she to you, you just cried and there were moment you could not speak as you were choked with memories. I know it is hard but you made it out! If it wasn’t for that positive mindset that tells you, you needed help, you could have end your life in the kitchen.
Your 5th mentor spends his day and night with you and drove along with your 3rd mentor to many places that I am sure your remember them but there was one that awaken you! It was in Karpal Singh Drive. The sea was calm and two of your mentors sacrifice their night for you! To love is to let go! Set her free and if she is yours, she will return.
You cried and cried and finally that night you decide to let her go for good. You told your 2 mentor that you will always love her no matter how hard this becomes and you will find your way to repent your sins. You told your mentors that you were ready to enroll for degree and determine to change the world. They praised and believe in you. That night, you went home screaming and you were excited as your new chapter has just begun.
Furthermore there comes a time where you got yourself into a mess and there were not much helped given to you to go on with a project. It was tough for me to make a decision to risk losing 18k or 2.8k for a project that could have been better if there were no conflict of interest involved. Anyways it went well and thanks to your positive mindset, you kept the team together and execute it. My 5th mentor helped me so much and as well a lady who lighted my will. She know who she is!

Besides that, in 2016, you were determined to find your purpose of existence. You joined so much platform and she was there with you too. Soon you came to know your strength and that was when you work your way up to become Penang Green Activist! If it wasn’t for the positive mind that you were determined to find your purpose, you wouldn’t have earn that! Oh yeah btw, did you still rmb your finale Public Speaking competition, you knew it was a tough challenge but when you took center stage, you were firm that you can win this shit! Guess what, you did! Your acting is way too cool on stage when you have the mic!

Calvin, you are 22 and you still have much more that needs to be done. Your dream is big and there are a few who calls you crazy that you dreams to become Penang CM! Well let them be. Did you still rmb there was this group of people who thought you will never succeed in the project in 2016 with the team and best of all they talk behind your back? But at the end you showed them what it takes to execute and what it takes to smile at them even after so much chaos they brought to you.
In 2017, you told yourself you need a team and as well a dedicated one that can bring an impact to the society. You reflected your past leadership and as well your failure to turn over a new leaf. You pitched your vision to empower youth to do social good for the society and tada, you have yourself a team of lovely people! They love you so much that they are willing to go all out or take the bullets for you to make things happen! Calvin! You must realize they believe in your vision! SO don’t take them for granted! Appreciate them for the sacrifice they make to execute ideas planned by the team and as well the their time to join you for hope street! You must also realize their commitment is so great that they are building your dream and not theirs. Not to forget LEGIONS TOO<3

Calvin, love them to the fullest and protect them! Protect them and let them rise too!!
