Does Bullying Exist in Steemit?

It sound so unlikely that this can happen in steemit platform as steemians online is generally nice to each other. Why steemian is so nice to each other in steemit one might ask? it is because everyone especially the new one or lower in reputation is fishing for upvotes. There is no way on earth we would be nasty nor sarcastic on steemit platform as we are trying to garner as much upvotes as possible.

So back to the question, Does cyberbullying exist in steemit platform?

If you never experience it , then consider yourself lucky. Unfortunately for me, i have experience it first hand and it sucks.

Who does the bullying? Only those of higher reputation will have the balls to do so, this is because they know they have the downvote button and even if a plankton like me try to retaliate , i will lose in the flag war.

So what do you do when you encounter any from of bullying in the steemit platform? Unfortunately for me, being a plankton, i cant do much other than lose the battle and be positive.

When the bullying began?

It started of with me organizing a contest. Being new in organizing a specific contest, we want to capture as much attention for support by everyone in steemit .

So the best option to do so, is to used current related trending tags

Unfortunately to some steemian group out there , has the concept wrong about tags, i ask the person who wanted me not to use the specific tag about it, if he has any exclusivity in using the tag, unfortunately , i got no reply.

Based on my understanding, how i see @ned and @dan design steemit in regards to tags is that tags has no exclusivity and anyone can used it. let me know , if this is wrong?

however everytime, i uses the tag in my post, i will be repeatedly harassed and they kept asking me not to used it so not to confuse others.

recently , they argue that for me using the tag, will make it difficult for their judges. The just keep on changing their excuses even after i offer them my help with solution to improve how they can do better judging as i made them understand that the tag has no exclusivity to themselves.

all they wanted is for me to stay off their tag. in their own word "We would prefer no know else uses the ******* tag"

Feeling sorry for them, for not having enough brain power to figure our a better way to do judging, i decided to let it go although knowing that by its principles and fundamental of tag in steemit, there is no exclusivity and anyone can use them.

I like it as how it is now , where tag has no exclusivity, it means that it all boils back to each steemian and their enterprising spirit to make the best out of steemit.

i understand that soon there will be steemit community, where tags is to be registered and whenever a tag is use, the owner of the tag will benefit in monetary. This, is what it seems, i am not entirely sure. Looking forward to get more insights from @andrarchy about this as he deals with community.

Anyway. Does Bullying Exist in Steemit? It sure does.

So here is key message on how i conclude this episode. I told these guys who wants me to stay off the tags the following;

stop harassing people when they used ******** tag for their contest to gain attention on their contest. Rather than comment on the contest post with lame excuse. It is nice if u guys get them on discord and chat with them asking assistance not to used the tag and offer a shout out on their contest to help out other new steemian that is doing similar contest. It all about the approach bro. Steem on

I send them my best wishes and told them that not to worry, i wont be using their tag and will be much extra careful in the future, knowing that whatever the outcome if i persist on standing for my right based on the principle of steemit in using tag, i will still lose as a plankton.

As pathetic as it sound, that the truth. It sucks being a plankton. if i was a whale i would take them on any day, so put it in their head the understanding of the current tags usage in steemit.
