Sometimes you don't need to go very far from your own backyard to be inspired. In my case, this past weekend watching my husband Sunny race made me realise the following 3 life lessons:-
One - You truly are NEVER too old
My hubby is 59 years old but has the attitude, thinking and fitness of people half his age. At this past weekend's FIM Asia Supermoto Championship 2017, he dominated his race class and won it even with younger riders racing and competing in his class. I know it is not easy for him to do so as I see what he has done to reach his current fitness level so that he can enjoy racing still. Which brings me to the next life lesson.
Two - PRACTICE makes perfect
He's had years of working out, training, practising, competing, racing, failing, losing, then repeating that all over again to be at the peak of his motocross racing days as Malaysia's MX champion when he was younger. That included the privilege of racing overseas as well. But if he was not consistent (in failing and losing too), he would not have achieved that success at all. Supermoto racing is relatively new to him but with his former experience, he picked it up pretty quick but he has certainly had his fair share of failing and needing to practise consistently to compete at his age and level.
Three - PASSION for living life on his own terms
I have seen men his age (and even younger) just demotivated, having a defeatist retiree mentality, not taking the steps to continue living their life just because they've stopped working or because they've given their whole life to their job hence without it life holds little meaning. I'm thankful that Sunny is blessed with such a passion for life, passion for his hobbies, yes even passion for his work (still) but most of all it's his passion for just living all out in the present. I'm sure he has gone through many ups and downs but that certainly has not stopped him at all.
So there it is. This is what I mean by not looking very far for me to be inspired. He is truly a champion in so many ways to me, our family and with hope to our friends who know him too. I've seen him through the years, never backing down, always meeting challenges head-on (sometimes to my dismay and worry) and always willing to teach and share especially when it comes to motocross and now supermoto racing. Best of all, he is also still learning and training constantly.......
So I say this, if a soon-to-be 60 year old man can do this, who are we to doubt, put ourselves down and think we are not capable of doing what we want in our lives? Keep going, keep failing but always learn and pick yourself up to move on and ahead in life!
#LiveLaughLove to all this Christmas season!
As a 23 years old. I hope to be like him in the future.. At the very least I'd own a speedbike😂😂

Ahhh to be your age and have the presence and mind to think ahead to what you can do with your life ahead. If you put your mind to it, I'm sure you will. And yes, with the speed bike too.
