Leveling Up!

In Steemit, the reputation score (REP), is a number in parentheses next to your username, a score regarding your overall influence level in the platform. This is essential you character level like in most game.

You earn reputation points (RP) when other users upvotes your post and comments, while losses RP when your post/comments get flagged. Please be reminded that the RP of the voter is also important in this case, as a user with higher REP than you cast you an upvote will worth significantly more than lots of 25 REP users upvoting for you.

Everybody starts at 25 REP. The journey to 50 REP or so is relatively easy, one quality post a day for about one month or two will do much of the heavy lifting, pushing you toward 50 REP. Things become significantly slower after 50 REP. The highest REP in Steemitis is around 78 REP at the moment.

After a while of posting and commenting, you will earn some SBDs that is very useful to buy upvotes from a service provider(such as @smartsteem), or bid a vote from upvote bots.

Join a guild

Steemit is community driven platform that covers a large numbers of topic and users with the same interest form groups to support each other’s works. This is form of association, is very similar to Guild function in most game. There will be admin and mod within the guild to regulate the behavior of the member, and sometimes there is daily upvotes provided.

These guilds have different admission requirements, some charge a one time fee upon enrollment, some charges monthly fees while the rest are free. Most if not all of them are very strict toward content control, so do check the guidelines beforehand. Also, strictly no plagiarising is allowed.
