Natural soap journey by a Borneo girl

in teammalaysia •  7 years ago

Hi Steemians,

I am finally back to writing after my first post 10 days ago!
My first post was a little about myself and my natural skin care brand - Native Body & Skin! I started my natural skin care journey from making soap. I used to make few hundred grams of soap at one time in my kitchen. Today, I am making 5 KG of Coffee Mint Soap in my new studio! Let me show you how 5 KG soap block looks like.

This photo doesn't do justice to show the actual size of the soap block. Perhaps you can get a better idea with this photo (Natalie's head for scale XD)

Cutting a huge chunk of soap is an actual hard labour, but all the effort paid off when my studio is filled with yummy coffee & minty scent!

I used a big soap slicing machine to divide the soap block into smaller ones. I love my soap slicing machine so much! Not only it makes my work more efficient, the slicing machine is also made entirely by bamboo, one of the most eco-friendly building material!

These are the smaller blocks that are ready to be cut into final size.

I have another cool soap cutter which I used to cut the smaller soap block into the final soap size. I do not have the photo with me today but I promise I will shoot a video of me using the soap cutter in near future!

Tadaa! This is how my final soap bar looks like. I stamp a cute reindeer pattern on it because it is Christmas time!
