Introduction

@bitrocker2020 has been doing this roadshow and introduction around Malaysia and this time when he had it in Bangsar, I didn't miss it. We have to give our fullest support to our witness bitrocker2020. For those who do not understand the role of a witness in the Steemit ecosystem can try to look up. They are basically specific people that is the backbone of the Steemit Community that is task with the duty of establishing and empowering the community.

The purpose of this introduction session is to share with newcomers or people who are interested in steemit that this is a paying platform by doing what you have already been doing all these while. Whether you are blogging, drawing, singing, dancing or cooking, sharing this on facebook will not return you any income. This is where steemit is different. It pays you when people like or enjoy what they see.

@bitrocker2020 started the session at 7.30 p.m. and the mood was quite relaxed because the next day is a public holiday. Here are a few members of #teammalaysia that turned up to support @bitrocker2020:-

@maverickfoo (marketer/motivator/speaker/trainer)
@notimetospace (travel and lifestyle blogger)
@sam.hsuu (writer/exotic pet lover/kickboxer)
@zord189 (animator/steemit banner specialist)
@nanastraybutt (dancer and lost child that wandered into the China community)
@stevengoh (photographer/travel show host)
@perennial (the guy who runs #makemeyourwhale campaign / poetry serial contestant)

I was warned by big brother if I don't do a good job tonight in taking the photos, I will have a tough time in the steemit community and here is my proof.

Actually @bitrocker2020 treated us like a family. He was the one that is instrumental in guiding us when we first joined steemit.

The Event

The event went on with @maverickfoo doing a simple introduction and thereafter passing the floor to @bitrocker2020. @maverickfoo shared his experience on steemit and how he has made a withdrawal to satisfy himself that this is not a scam. Money can actually be withdrawn.

When @bitrocker2020 held the floor, he gave examples of how an account operates and explained the basic terminologies such as upvotes, resteem, cheetah bot, whales, wallet, steem backed dollar and many others that I do not understand. It was a detailed explanation for a beginner's session.

He even did a live posting where he managed to show the audiences that money is being generated through upvotes. The first 6 seconds, he earned USD0.04, the next 4 minutes he earned USD0.14, the next 8 minutes he earned USD1.32 and after 32 minutes, his post earned him USD15.14.

The session continued with some explanation on how the voting power contributes to a person's income followed by a question and answer session.

Important Questions Raised

There are some really good solid questions that are thrown to @bitrocker2020. Some of them that I can remember are as follows:-

Is the income generated from Steemit taxable?

How does Steemit produce the money to pay its content providers?

Whether can the same contents written by the same writer be reproduced in Steemit?

Whether there will be a cryptocurrency ban in Malaysia and whether Steemit would be affected

These are all valid questions. Here @perennial tries to answer some of the questions posed.

@maverickfoo tries to help by whispering some answers to another audience

When @maverickfoo got tired, he went down to buy a cup of juice co at 20% discount

IMG_0474.JPG

Because @maverickfoo is a dedicated and responsible steemian, he continues to answer questions after he quenched his thirst.

Then @bitrocker2020 took over again. So it was like having a few presenters giving an insight to what steemit has to offer.

The Audiences

This crowd is quite an amazing crowd. Many of them have already signed up for a steemit account and they have some basic knowledge about how steemit works. So many of them are present merely to clarify. A good solid crowd of approximately 40 people turned up. Some left early for some Diwali prayers, but all is cool.

The picture above speaks a thousand words, but if you cannot hear those thousand words, I reproduce them below for you,

'You know what steemit paid me for writing about posting scorpions in a mail? It is like freaking USD20 plus, and I was like are you freaking kidding me?'

I just made that up. But it is true @sam.hsuu did post about posting scorpions in mail and she got an upvote of more than USD20 for it as someone who started less than a week old.

So, basically that is the report for the time being. I say tata with a wefie of myself and my #teammalaysia

This is me supporting my friend @perennial in his quest to be a tiny whale.
