Chinese New Year Day . Working Day with my Lucky Cat 初七。开工大吉。招财猫

After a long holiday from February 15th to 21st. Today Chinese New Year Day 7 is our company start working day at 11am and also everyone special day, hereby I wish everyone Happy Birthday. 1st day working day received an angpow, 1 packet of rice & 1 mandarin orange from my boss. The rice packaging is so cute with a word "Touching", she bought from Sekinchan with a packet of 6 small packets in RM 15 and suitable as a gift for everyone.

I took a photo of my stuff with other Chinese New Year decoration at the reception. Here I wish everyone

经过这段长假期从2月15日至21日。今天是初七11点早上是我们公司开工大吉也是大家的特别日子人日,在这里祝大家生日快乐。开工第一天收到老板的开工红包,一包小米和一粒橘子。米的包装很可爱加上一个字感动,老板在适耕莊买的,一包里有六包小包米价格RM15适合当送礼。

Monday we went Grand Treasure Shop located at Lot LG211A 1Utama Shopping Centre No 1 Lebuh Bandar Utama 47810 Petaling Jaya. The seller sells varities of Fortune Cats, Daruma Doll, God of Wealth etc. We bought a 2 fortune cats at RM 110 & RM 78 & 2 Daruma Doll at RM 60.

What Does Fortune Cat means ?
Fortune Cat name as the Maneki-Neko is a common Japanese figurine (lucky charm, talisman) which is often believed to bring good luck to the owner.

Fortune Cat is known as Maneki Neko in Japanese, which means “beckoning cat.” The cat raised its paw as if it’s waving in good fortune for its owners.

The Legends Behind This Lucky Cat
Lucky Cats first appeared during the Edo period in Japan (17th century to mid-19th century).
First Legend:-
A wealthy man who took shelter from a rainstorm under a tree next to a temple. He noticed a cat that seemed to be beckoning to him, so he followed it into the temple. A while, lightning struck the tree he had been standing under. the man was so grateful because the cat saved his life, he became a donor of the temple and brought it much prosperity. When he passed away, a statue of the cat was made in is honor.

Second Legend:-
A geisha had a pet cat. One day, the cat tugging at her kimono and the geisha's brother thought the cat was possessed and sliced off its head with a sword. The flying cat head landed on a snake and the fangs killed the snake and saved the woman. The geisha was so unhappy on her cat's death and one of her customer made a statue of the cat to cheer her up.

The Significance of the Maneki Neko’s Raised Paw
Left paw is to attract customer, right paw is to invites good fortune and money. Two paws up can also represent protection.

. Calico: Traditional color combination, considered to be the luckiest

传说2:-
一位艺妓养了一只猫。有一天,那只猫揪着主人的衣服而导致她哥哥以为猫儿着魔了便一刀砍了猫儿的头。猫儿的头向着一条蛇而它的獠牙杀死了蛇救了主人一名。那名艺妓觉为了猫儿的死去感到悲伤,其中一位顾客做了一只猫的塑像让他振作起来。

This is our (@r3aperz) Maneki-Neko invites Good Fortune & Money, elegant person & health. My Maneki-Neko was placed in my room on top a rack, was recommended by the seller to insert 7 pcs of new 50 cents coins. Hopefully she will bring us good luck in year 2018.
