Wesak Day, going vegetarian food

in teammalaysia •  7 years ago  (edited)

Today was not the usual day that I’d go through, I’ve finally had the chance to check out one of my friend’s favorite Vegetarian Bistro!

Upon reaching the Bistro, you’d notice that the bistro itself is pretty clean. It would take only a little density of grease to fill the air to turn off my appetite, so it was something I’d be on a look out for everytime I dine out.

Being a vegetarian bistro, one would expect the menu to be quite limited, by the lack of meat dishes, of course. Which is why I was quite surprised by their extensive menu of choices, from nasi lemak to “chicken” rice, it felt just like any other restaurant that isn’t vegetarian.

I, being a die-hard Malaysian, ordered the vegetarian Nasilemak. After about 15 minutes, my food arrived and I just remember not being able to wait to taste it. The Nasi Lemak itself was served with some papadam, curry, sambal, peanuts, and a bit of cucumber. Taste-wise, it was alright, I mean...It’s really just Nasilemak, you know? Nothing special except for the curry - which tasted quite clean and easy to go down the stomach. A very light meal albeit being one that is pretty alright, quite an average meal.

The bill came up to about 10rm (with drinks), not bad for a place that is decently decorated/new. Overall, not a bad place to have lunch at all!
