One of the cool things about walking around NYC iis you never know what you will come across, take this colorful wall for example, it is so colorfula nd vibrant it catche sones eye from a distance so I had to head down the street to see it closer and get a couple of shots.

Someone asked and I should have said the writing on the mural are about dreams thinsg such as My dream is to be an Artist

This also fits for a post for @juliank’s daily photo contest for info check out the FAQ page

This is for the Thursday Colorful Photography

And in Stark contrast to the Mural, right beside me as I took the first photo, was this tagging on a brick wall, now I love some of the artistic graffitti around but stuff like this not so much so let me finish off with.

A closer in shot of the Mural, it seems ot be part of the Chime for Change initiative founded by Gucci, but other than that I do not know what that is about.

😱my next cam will be a sonyA7iii 😍 dont know when ... but this is the one 🔥

@marjanko Yeah I saw you had the A6000 a great camera I had one, well two of those, one I sold and other is with my Daughter in Law, I now have the a7II which I strongly recommend and the A6500

I love the a6000 so maybe I will get the 6500... but a a7 is a monster. A perfekt camera for storm hunting 👌
Will see 🔥

@marjanko and a nice lens you have on it, A macro Lens may well be the next one I buy ;)

@tattoodjay worth every penny👌 I just love it 😍
I just need a 10-18mm sony for storm hunting ... but most of my photos I shot with macro

@marjanko Yes that is also on my list would be great for my walk around street and beach photography

@tattoodjay I heard so much good thing about the lens🔥, but it's not cheap... that is a downside at sony 😭
But the photos are amazing.😍

We're at a really interesting place for photography, from what I can tell. I'm heavily invested in Canon glass, but the Fujifilm X series (X-H1 especially) looks amazing. Canon and Nikon are both set to release serious mirrorless cameras, too, and Canon's dual-pixel autofocus is almost DSLR fast... Should be interesting to see what all these players come up with.

@marjanko yes me to, Sony isnt cheap but I think its the best out there at the moment

Vibrant and cool! Love it

@chelsea88 Thanks it sure did catch ones eye

That blue face looks amazing but those names I never understood, where is the art in that? I always like to see art on street, but true art like that face image. Singing your name on the wall is not art :D

@zen-art we are totally in Synch on this tagging is terrible and I would love to see it all cleaned away, but good street art I love to see

Great Post & captures!
Is that mural downtown on Lafayette st?

@jcsteem I normally randomly take shots os street names so I know where I was when I took a shot, I didn't for this one but yes I think it was there near Spring Street if I remember rightly

The colorful murals are so much nicer to look at, aren't they @tattoojay?!! I've recently done a lot of posts featuring the murals around here in playa del Carmen, Mexico, but the last two I found last week sometime are out of this world!! If you like a good mural, check them out :)

(and the posts are way past post payout fyi; I just love sharing them with fellow mural lovers haha)

@lynncoyle1 Ohh yes I think so as well
I will have to go check out the ones you shared :)

@tattoodjay 😎

Beautiful street painting.

@joalvarez thanks it was a cool find

I'm guessing the artist(s) had permission for that one. That would have required a bit of planning and a cherry-picker to pull off!

When I lived in Spain, I remember coming across a variety of graffiti in random places. Most was more like your second photo but, every once in awhile, you would see something really well done...

@fotosdenada Yes that was a commissioned piece, but its the same here you come across some unapproved art that is amazing

Street art, in all their variations, is fascinating. From colorful symbols of defiance to creative use of the street space, like below found in Penang Malaysia.

@dxn I agree it is fascinating. Sorry I wont check your link I am always dubious of links in comments other than to steemit posts

Ahh no worries, I thought the image will show up without having to click on that link. Let me try again

Can you see it now?

@dxn Ohh yes I can see it and glad you shared it that's such a cool bit of Art love it

Love it! Someday I will come to New York! haha

@mrchef111 its well worth a visit for sure, When I was dragged here 15 years ago it was on the condition with my boss at the time that I would only be here a year and then go back to the field, well I am still here so I guess the job and city grew on me

That is so cool that you like it. What do you do for work? I can't remember if we talked about that in discord.

@mrchef111 NO I dont think we did, basically nowadays I shuffle papers and attend meetings, but I was a Telecommunications Engineer for many years, installing telephone radio and Satellite equipment, and now manage our global networks to a degree

Oh that is really cool. Ever get involved with fiber optics with your work? Or is that a different field?

@mrchef111 IN the field I did run some fibre in our Data Centres, but not a lot of experience with it and not for a few years

ahh I see. That is cool though, communications is an important field! :)

@mrchef111 well when I worked in Missions and even now when we start a mission often there is no infrastructure so it is very important

It really is a beautiful wall mural @tattoodjay, thanks for sharing!

@lizelle my pleasure to visit, thanks for your visit

Lovelt....colourful and vibrant...artis keep the dull streets walls lively with these artwork👍

@steemflow OHh yes thats a cool thing about NYC, so much art all around, I have a bunch more I need to edit

That shot more details. I love graffiti, it's a true street art. Friend, a hug.

@crisangel Thanks this was a very cool piece

That is awesome. I love it when you encounter massive murals like that. And this one has such a good colour scheme! My personal favourite has always been the graffiti you see on the sides of the new york subway train carriages. I don't know why, I have just always thought they looked amazing!

@fiftysixnorth Isn't it such a cool Mural I know what you mean about the trains I used to see them when I lived in Queens but in the city, you don't see it so often

I suppose they're on specific lines? I remember reading a story about how taggers used to sneak into the tunnels and would paint the trains at night etc.. especially in the 80s and then as a way to combat that the city eventually said to them ... "ok, look.. here's a couple trains you can go to town on .. just leave the rest alone ok?" and that seems to be what they do now. Not sure if that's correct anymore though.

I call it defacement.

Very interesting, what were the words written in the clouds? Very colorful and obviously alot of effort to produce something like this. Great shots!

@birdsinparadise they were mostly about dreams many started with "My dream is"
