My new GPU has been decided... again!steemCreated with Sketch.

After my last GPU purchase from eBay didn't quite pan out like I'd hoped it would, I knew that once I got my money refunded to me that I'd be looking to buy another GPU. After looking through eBay these past few days, this is what I decided on. After waking up this morning I called my bank to see how much money I had and to my surprise, my money had been refunded to me quicker that I'd hoped... but also to a different card than I'd used to pay for it. While that's a bit strange, at least I got my money back sooner than I expected!

This is a Gigabyte RX 480 4GB G1 Gaming. It has a bit better performance than an RX 570 and also sports a metal backplate and RGB lighting which is a really cool touch. I'd contacted the seller (who had over 1,000 positive feedbacks with no negative ones btw) and asked him about the card. He told me that while it says seller refurbished, he didn't actually disassemble them (he had 10 originally for sale) but simply cleaned them up to look near new and stress tested them to assure that they performed as expected. I'd asked him if he knew if the cards had their original stock BIOS or a mining BIOS on them, and he assured me that they did in fact have their original BIOS on them. While it's not hard to flash a BIOS, it'll be one less thing that I'll need to do. He also informed me that under full load the cards never hit above 65C which is awesome, but I'm also assuming that these tests were performed on an open-air bench and that I'll probably be getting slightly higher temps in my case. I'll be stress testing when I get it to see how the temps really are.

Overall, I'm happy so far, but the real test will be when I get the card and I can put it through it's paces so to speak. This card was actually a bit cheaper than the last one that I'd purchased. I was able to use an eBay promo code that they had for me and was able to save 10% off of the price that you see listed here.

What has surprised me most is that the seller was very quick to answer any questions that I had and also they mailed the card off less than an hour after I'd purchased it which is almost unheard of outside of huge sellers like Amazon!

I can't wait... well actually I guess I have too lol.

Fingers crossed that everything goes well, but so far things seem very promising. I'm expecting to finally get out some benchmarks by this coming weekend.

As always, thanks for reading. I hope you have an awesome day! :)
