Team of Two Contest - Andhara The Protector of Humanity

It is just another ordinary day for Andhara, a day where she has to fight monsters in order to keep the world in balance. Many times she's asking her own self about her action, why should she keeps killing those creatures that people called as monsters. Those creatures just like her, they have souls and they're striving for living. It hurts, every time she heard those monsters screaming whenever her bow hit them, she cries, and she cried even more when a soul leave its body. Many times she thinking about leaving, move to the far far away island and restart her live, but the other part of her always stopping her, because if she leaves everything behind, there will be nothing but chaos. Those monsters will run wild, killing humans viciously, leave nothing but silence. So, she get herself together, she knows she needs to kill in order to save thousands, millions or even billions of humans live. Like it or not, within the great power there lies a great responsibility. So, she takes a deep breath, calming herself and continue her fight.

Andhra is girl who blessed with extraordinary power, a power she never asked for, a blessing and a curse for her, a power to exterminate monsters. She can control earth, water, fire and wind elements, she own the bow of Kali, which power invincible, nothing in this world can beat her, she even has a fire dragon as her pet, a creature which power can turn a country into chaos in a blink of the eye, she is a monster herself. Yet, as she fights for humans no one see her as a monster, everybody regard her as a heroine, for her has bring peace in the realm of human.

Hello everybody.... I made, ehem, I mean we (me and @hime.sama) made this drawing for a contest held by @scrawly and @veryspider. A team of two contest, this time the theme for this contest is Power. Well, when I saw the announcement I feel doubt to participate in this contest, but latter I send a message for @hime.sama, and I got a positive respond.

I just send a screenshot of this contest announcement, and she give a fast respond, latter I asked her if she has any idea about what should we draw. At first I told her, what if we redraw one of my character (Hana Chan holding a bow while sitting on a monster), but she agrees to disagree, lol.

She gives a quite cool idea, she said, what if we draw a person who standing on magic circle, her cloak waving by the wind blow, she cried blod while her face remain flat, and behind her, there's a broken moon.

From her idea, I got a new idea and make a drawing, and she agrees with this drawing and then we start working on it.

@hime.sama is a steemit user who lives in the same town with me, and both of us wasn't good with digital painting, so we need to meet up in order to make this painting, we spend a lot of time at cafes around our town, talking and finishing this painting. She is so good in painting anime characters, you can check out her work in her page. I might be the one who designed and make the drawing, but @hime.sama is my editor, She is the one who painting the characters, while I the one who paint the background and that little lighting in the arrow 😅, so, this is really a work of two people.

Drawing Process

Drawing Tools :

• Acrylic Paint
• Water
• Brushes
• Watercolour Paper
• Faber Castell & Simbalion Watercolor paint cakes
• Touch Only Copic Marker
• Pencil
• Eraser

• I started by making the character outline

• And I keep editing and adding details.

• Latter, I showed it to @hime.sama, and she edited one of its hands and its feet.

• Next, I use gel pen to bold this drawing.

• Now colouring the background, I used Faber Castell and Simbalion cake water colors for the sky and acrylic for the moon and the stars.

• Now, it's @hime.sama turns, she started by colouring the girl's armor, she used copic marker in the proses, well, she is quiet newbie in using this tool, as she just bought it few days ago, yet in my eyes, she looks like a pro. She mixed colours to make a cool colours gradation, to be honest I feel tired by simply watching her, lol.

• next she moved to our Andhra's skirt. She told me, if we use copic marker we have to start from the darkest colour.

• After @hime.sama finished with Andhra's skirt and armor, now she began colouring the bow.

• Now.... I just can said whooooaaaaaaaa..... She finished coloring Andhara, lastly, she's colouring our cute fire dragon 😆 now, we're finished, and I really love this painting. It's true, two heads is better than one 😊
