rape, a crisis in a country

South Africa is being destroyed.

By Men who believe it is their right to satisfy their sexual urges, with any woman regardless of her interest or consent in the matter.

South Africa has the highest statistics of rape. The news article I saw on RT last night stated that over 110 cases are reported daily. Statistically that may be right but it only represents the tip of an iceberg, so many more are unreported due to lack of official interest and skills, and also the disbelief of families where the victim is a member.

This was brought to light by a the suicide of a final year Rhodes University student,Khensani Maseko, after she had been raped several months ago.

The lives of so many women here in South Africa is irreparably damaged for their entire lives. In one of my previous articles I spoke about a farmer who had his estranged wife raped by three black men who were doing casual labour at his house at the time. They said they were scared of being killed so they had to pretend to rape her after her deranged husband tore her one nipple off with a pair of pliers. To all the men out there who are reading this article and the previous article that I wrote, consider this: "If your life was in jeopardy, could you rape a tortured helpless woman to save your own life?"

Years ago, a young black woman attempted to take on Deputy President Jacob Zuma for raping her in 2005. She tried to take on the "System", she was given a pseudoname to protect her; KHWEZI. Eventually after many threats and violent acts against her and her mother, they fled the country to Netherlands. The ANC vilified her, and Zuma went on to become President of South Africa. Jacob famously said he knew her status was HIV positive so he showered after the event. He claims he was led on by her and what else could he do? He is a Zulu with strong sexual urges. He claimed it was consensual and he was acquitted. This poor girl has subsequently passed away while hiding from the public in South Africa. A book has been released telling her story, the book is not intended to vilify the former president of South Africa (personally I can't see how it doesn't!). Her name was Fezekile Ntsukela Kuzwayo.

This man represented the "best" that the ANC had, after all, he was their leader. He probably has more than 50 children. He became the President of South Africa and he and the Guptas "raped the country" financially. Numbers are beginning to emerge and it looks like more than a hundred billion rand was "lost" to the country in the ten years of his reign. I reckon it was much much more than that amount. He has lost office but he still is a significant political figure in the ANC leadership.

The money does not bother me as much as the culture he reflects. Women are there to satisfy his urges. I know that this permeates the whole country. Yes this too is the poison of entitlement that rots this country.

There is violent rape everywhere but more women and children are raped by family and close friends here in South Africa. It is estimated that one in three women will be raped in their lifetime. Do you understand what such a number means? If a woman looks to her left and sees a woman, then looks to her right and sees another woman, it means that one of those three will be raped during their lifetimes. The rapists often murder their victims to hide their crimes and hide the bodies.

The Law is INEFFECTIVE. The police often "lose" files, don't follow up properly on the few reported rape cases and the vast majority of raped women never see "justice". It is usually their fault for dressing provocatively and "leading" the rapist on.

Lest you think it is limited to one race, I can assure you that it is not, rape is every where.

Is this only SA? Look at the antics taking place in the American Politics. Is Trump the American version of Jacob Zuma? The Republicans in general seem to think that these women are coming forward with a political agenda. I know it sounds terrible but I hope these cases in America are valid or the whole movement against female abuse is weakened.

Am I proud to be a South African? No, not anymore.

A society must be judged on how they treat those weaker than themselves; their women, their children, their pets and the poor. In this darkened benighted land, there is the odd spark of light, of decency and compassion. The men of this land cannot say this blog is sensationalism, it is not. The acting President of South Africa, . Also in May 2018, Beke Cele, the Minister of Police, revealed that over 40% of reported rape cases are against children.

What I see and what little justice I see for women worries me terribly. I am an ashamed South African male. I actually do fear for my wife and my beautiful girls.

What can I do? What can we do?

There are several things that can be done:

Avoid pornography at all costs. How many times has pornography been proven to be a stimulus to rapists. Nothing objectifies women like pornography does. I have been told that it is addictive and just like drugs. It is a downward spiral where more and more perversion is needed to stimulate the jaded senses of the pornography addict.

Don't watch movies that degrade women, nudity, any sex or lewd suggestions are on most movies today. It is hard to find something "decent". Why are there so many movies? Because there is a market where lots of money can be made. If you watch stuff like that, you are supporting it.

Avoid jokes that cheapen the virtue of women. If you laugh at it, you support it. Have the courage to tell the joke teller it is inappropriate.

Girls need to dress modestly. I am not saying that immodest clothing gives the man a right to abuse a woman, but it promotes thoughts that could lead to acts. Of course women are entitled to choose for themselves, obviously no man is allowed to touch another women without her consent, but why be stupid and take the risk? If I am going to swim in a tank of sharks and I have a bleeding arm, can I complain about the consequences if I go swim? Am I invincible? No! Very few girls have the strength to resist a man. I know it sounds gender biased but it is generally a fact.

Women must avoid dangerous or "dodgy" areas and BE AWARE of their surroundings. Be careful how you drive, avoid bumper to bumper in congested traffic.

Men who are tempted to commit these crimes must remember their own mothers. Would they commit these crimes if thinking of her? Would they commit their crime while she watches him?

This country sounds like a war zone. It actually is. Crime is rampant and out of control.

I am not proud to be a South African.

Excellent review, my friend, the topic of rape has always been very relevant and of course it's a pity that this phenomenon is very widespread in your country, but it's not your fault and you need to, of course take it seriously! Thank you @fred703

I live in Venezuela that is going through a great economic crisis but read this from South Africa, it must be terrible to feel harassed that at any moment you can be raped, my mother told me one day: daughter, do not complain about the ills of your country, there is people who are having a worse time in their countries, and she is right.

To live in such a country is terrible, I would at the first opportunity try to leave. I think that the order will not come soon. Maybe you also think about moving

cool alphabet, just don't know what is being said. :)

Sorry, I'm under the impression of the horrors that are happening in your country did not use the translator :)

Rape is a big crime and it destroys our society. Very bad news for South Africa, where womens aren't safe that means there nobody are safe.

:( It makes me sad to know all these stat :( child abuse and rapes should be stopped.

Very bad new for South Africa. Those involved in this work should be given a severe punishment.

over here the rights of the criminal are more important than those of the victim

I like the post .yiur post are so interesting.thanks for sharing the information.

Rape is really a big sin that will humiliate the society. Its a crime against humanity , its not acceptable in the society.

Terrible times. In your country, lawlessness reigns. It is necessary to change something, but no one does nothing to improve it.

you are right, over here society seems to think more of the same justice will fix the problem. It can't. must have a deterrent to crime. Criminals are using murder to cover their other crimes.

very nice and great post
I like the method used to explain the subject
