It was a starry, starry night
And I had, had too much to drink
We were standing by the door
When I put my hands in yours
And rested my head on your
Shoulders.
He turned round and turned
Off the light
And on that starry, starry night his lips met mine.
Well I’ve been kissed before
By many a boring boar
But this one was so different
And so sweet
You see I’ve like him for so long
So very, very long’
And now we’ve kissed
And life is truly complete
Then he left and went away
And I just stood there with my heart
Beating and knocking in my chest
On that starry, starry night
I gave in without a fight
And I will remember that night
For as long as I live
This was my first poem and I wrote it after my first kiss. I have always loved it and I think it shows how something as novel as a first kiss stays with us girls for a long time. I’m not talking about the gross, tongue slopping dare or experiment with your childhood friend. I’m talking about the innocence that comes from being young and not knowing that you have been crushing on someone and they kiss you. Oh my word, that moment is the best.
Please share your own stories, I love hearing about them. Thank you for reading.
