MY STORY, MY TEARS!!

Hello steemians

I have seen a lot of posts talking about Teardrops Smart Media Token and @surpassinggoogle's shared content about Teardrops Smart Media Token with reward on each 'proof of tears'.

From the little I have gathered (still researching tho...), I learnt that Teardrop Smart Media Token is a digital token like Bitcoin and steem, which can be used to reward user in their interaction with the community, just like giving steem to steemian.

My mother always told me that tears was not always because of sorrow. she said it is a way to call upon the deity in heaven, and hopes he sends her rain as the cloud does.

I was just 7 years old, we had just lost our home, and lives to the killings from a nearby tribe. It was such a day where beloved left their homes, and lived with scars. Behold, I lost my father in that war, he had tried to rescue my youngest sister who was crippled due to poliomyelitis.

“Daddy!!!” I still see him in my dream each day I sleep. To see that my father never returned from our burning house. He and my sister, were both lost.

Life became difficult, lived from debt to shame. I almost could not go to school, if not for the struggles of my mother, who saw that I was keen to be educated.

I went to school during the day and hawked tied groundnut after school, so that we could have money for supper.

I realised early that help would not come for me, if I desire to go beyond high school education, so I started keeping any extra tip I got and with that i added other small goods to the tray to hawk.
After savings for 8 years, I was finally able to gather my first semester tuition fee. I didnt know where the other fees would come from, but i believed.
One day, i saw a memo calling first year students to apply for a scholarship and i did. Behold, i won!!!
The tears that came to my eyes was so overwhelming that it poured out even I could stop them. Not tears of sorrow, but of joy, gratitude, determination. I won several other scholarships that saw me through the university.

Now I'm done with my first degree and I got a side job as a researcher. I am also a baker and I try to do what I can to make ends meet. For now, I can take care of the basic needs of my family though we still have to deny ourselves of some luxury.

I'm thankful to @surpassinggoogle for this opportunity to tell this story and I know that with steemit, things are gonna get better with me and my family.
