Hi Steemians, I am @loraine and I want to share you guys my proof of @tears. This is when I graduated college with a degree in Bachelors in Science of Information Technology but then I was not able to take that I.T career path due to challenges in job application.
Depression and anxiety came in whenever I see my classmates land a job according to our course. I was hopeless.
A job offer came from Hotel Soffia Boracay. I don't know what to feel at that moment. I was like torn between continuing my job hunt inline with I.T career or take this once in a lifetime opportunity. With my parents decision, I grab the job. I am not feeling good with what I did. I cried and cried on my way to Boracay from Manila. Aside from being alone with the family, this kind of job is not what I have dreamt of.
New environment, new people, new experiences. People of Boracay were so accommodating. Maybe because they are used to welcoming guest from other places and offering their best smiles and services. I was appointed as a front desk officer taking the bookings and check out of the clients. This is the position I don't want to be in because I am a shy person. Adjustments have to be done. Everyday I practice in front of the mirror welcoming guest while smiling. Eventually I have fallen in love with the job, the hotel and Boracay itself.
I realized, this should be one of the dream job because you get to work and have a vacation in the paradise.
I also get to know beautiful people inside and out.
I learned not be shy anymore. Sharing my thoughts and smiles to them.
I then feel that though I was far from my family, I have new found family in Boracay.
Thankful for what happened to me back then. I learned a lot especially how to handle clients, their requests and concerns. This job that gets me on @tears is also the job that prepares me for my next I.T career! Because of my job at Boracay I was able to practice better handling of clients as I work on a company that sells softwares to big clients like ABS-CBN.
Indeed @tears teaches us a lot of lesson in life!!!
HAPPY STEEMING!!!
Love,
@loraine
