Some SCOT & Nitrous Inquiry!!!

in teardrops •  5 years ago

There is the Teardrops tokens, to power three steem-based social interfaces, namely 'ulogs.org', 'steemgigs.org' and 'macrohard.pro'. The Teardrops tokens is currently steem-engine-based.

Lately, i have been in some dilemma trying to analyze how to effectively integrate the teardrops currency (one token) into three stand-alone sites and while doing this analysis, i have looked at the SCOT-option as offered by steem-engine and i have started exploring the various existing nitrous (condensers) to gain insight into 'the flexibility of these options' in terms of functionality and in comparison to SMT.

Assuming we are to use the SCOT-option for instance, how would we apply SCOT to distribute one token among three interfaces. How would inflation work and will it be shared or will each interface have its own inflation. If you are able, kindly leave a comment below with your suggestions.

In the meantime, here is a small list of questions for steem-engine that i would love to get answers to:

  1. Will the condenser (nitrous) be uploaded to clients' GitHub? (i.e to where client can make edits and continue to develop and enhance the site?)
  2. Can client host the condenser on his own server or is all hosting done by you?
  3. The '1 ENG payment per user (per month)', is that 'staked ENG' or does client still have to send in the 'liquid ENG' each month. Assuming it is 'staked ENG', how does the billing really work? For instance, how does a client know how much ENG they have to stake, at the start a month. Now, assuming SCOT served 1000 active users on the first month and 1000 ENG was staked as payment, what happens the next month, if '1000 users were active again'; will the client need to stake another 1000 ENG (meaning 2000 staked ENG for 1000 active users, for two months)?
  4. I see that there is a basic default-condenser (nitrous) that is delivered when a client pays the required ENG..... Is it possible for a client to request that some additional basic-features be implemented on the site, before its delivery e.g a pop-up, a video-embed area etc?
  5. Can a client integrate SCOT into an existing non-nitrous-site? Can you help client get that done? Is payment for this done in ENG? Is there an estimated cost in ENG for this?
  6. How flexible is SCOT smart contract? Can changes be made to it? For instance, is it possible to setup an experimental SCOT instance, issuing a small portion of the entire token supply first or does one need to issue the entire supply at the outset?

What I know is that, for example, the same SCOT can be integrated in two different interfaces. See SPT, linked to both Splintertalk.io and to the SM forum. Actually Scotbot distributes rewards to all posts using the relevant tag, but I believe you were interested in the first situation, where two or more different interfaces distribute the same token.

I know of at least a public case where work is being done to integrate SCOT into a non-Nitrous website. That is D.Tube. Announcement here: https://steemit.com/scottube/@aggroed/steem-engine-and-d-tube-are-partnering-up#@aggroed/psjli2

I hope you will receive answers to all your specific questions from someone who knows the system from the inside.
