I came from a broken family. My dad used to hurt my Mom so Nanay took us away from him. Nanay is my Grandmother, she's my Mom's mother. All her grandchildren call her Nanay, which means Mom in Filipino. I was diagnosed with Urinary Track infection when I was still 5 years old while my Mom was said to have a Myoma. Nanay did her best to support me with my medication until I got totally cured. Mom was later found out that she doesn't have a myoma, instead, a twin baby has seen on her womb during an ultrasound, but it was too late. Mom had taken several types of medicines before they found out that she was pregnant and only one of the twins survived. A year after Mom gave birth to my sister she decided to work abroad as Domestic Helper. Nanay took care of us while she was away.

Nanay is a great and talented tailor, I often see her tailoring curtains, sofa cover, dresses and more for her client. I admire her for that talent so I used to watch her and asked everything I want to know. She is a very supported Nanay to me, I love dancing and she always encourages me to join all dancing activity. She took charge of all my needs especially the dresses and props I needed for the contest. As I grew up she noticed my willingness to learn to tailor using her sewing machine, so she taught me how to navigate it. As time passed by, I learned to tailor little clothes for my dolls, my own shirts and shorts and Nanay was very proud of me. I love seeing the smile on her face, I want her to be always happy.

After several years my Mom went home and lived with my Stepfather. Our life becomes tough as my stepfather doesn't have a permanent job and my mom was a housewife. With all my Nanay's teachings at the age of 12, I started to work as a tailor in our neighborhood to support our basic needs. I spent my vacant time every after class on weekdays and the whole weekends on tailoring to earn a living. Nanay always reminds me to have faith in the Lord and everything will be alright. I finished my secondary school and I pursue to find a very good job to support my family including Nanay. Nanay needs support for her maintenance medication for Hypertension and I know It was my the time to give back. I applied for a job and Nanay stayed at my back. She cheered me up and prayed for my success with my job interview. I got hired and she was the first person who cried with so much happiness for me. I was already at the right age yet Nanay still took care of me. She had my meals ready every time I woke up, prepared warm water for my bath and sent me to the shuttle station. After work, she always came to pick me up at the shuttle station again. She was my super the best Nanay. And you know what's making me so proud of her? It's because she's not a strict old woman, unlike other grannies, Nanay knows how to bond with the youth. My friends are also her friends. Nightlife? It was not a problem to her, as long as she's sure that I am with good friends and someone will send me back home safe, it's alright to her. Sexy dress? It's ok as long as It's not that revealing. Drinking alcohol occasionally? That's fine, as long as I don't drink too much. Having a boyfriend? It's alright as long as he's not a bad influence on me and honestly loving me, why not?.

You might think that I am a spoiled brat? No, I'm totally not. Nanay does trust me and my decisions because she knows I will never fail her, and I really did not. With all the little success I got she was the first person to know. She is the first person who would always congratulate me, the person who would cry for me on my toughest moment, the person who will cheer for me on something that I want to achieve, the person who would protect me, my number 1 supporter, and my number 1 fan. I dedicate all my achievements to her, and with all my little success, her only request? Is for me to abide, be faithful and give all the glory to the Lord. I love you Nanay!

She's the best. Regards to your family too :)

There is nothing more beautiful than being raised by our grandmother

True, most people I know who are raised by their grandparents are sweet.

If there is no scolding, They just love us even though I was not raised by my grandmother, I loved her too

lola's love i indeed precious

i never had a chance to grow up with grandmas because they both go to heaven when i was still a baby

But my son is so lucky to have experience the love and care her grandma has for him

👍❤️❤️❤️
