How are you today?
Do you believe in Saints?
Do you have a favorite Saints? ,Do you think,the existence of Saints is still relevant in our generation, in our time?
Each person has its own prerogative with regards to this. I personally constantly believe in their existence.
I believe that Saints are important to us who are still living because of their intercession and constant prayer for those who ask their help and intercession.Saints are the concrete examples on how to live a holy life. They show to us the truth of life. They reveal to us the secrets which is beyond our comprehension.
They are the one who expressed great love for God in which they themselves experienced how did it feels to be in the bosom of God.They are the one who will admonished us on how we should live our life here on earth. It is their desire that we also someday will with them in heaven.They show to us that despite our human weaknesses,sinfulness , and our human tendencies to sins , it is possible to overcome them.It is within reach to live a holy life. We can live as God wanted us to be. In our world now wherein we are exposed on media, gadgets, new inventions which can divert our attention on what is really the truth.
Its very hard now to distinguished between truth and lies, fact and fantasies due to varied information that we received from different sources. Now, there are many things that can give us entertainment due to internet which is within reach. Using this internet, we are lead to be engrossed to just anything they offered, it can be movies, different games, etc. These things gradually implanted to us the attitude to reject pains,sacrifices, and hard situations in life and if we are on this situations we immediately complaint. We forgot that being a Christian, we can't get away from any form of cross cause if we are living without a cross we are no longer living as Christ lives.
The Saints taught us that crosses are precious gifts, an opportunity for us to be united to our crucified Savior and like Christ, through our daily crosses we will be saved as well. We can now have reparations for the sins we committed so that when we will be on the next life our stay on the place of purification will a little bit shorter. The Saints expressed their gratefulness every time they were under life's tribulations and struggles.
Any sufferings if bear patiently and united to the sufferings of Christ Jesus will become a precious offerings before God. This is the hidden truth that the Saints tried to impart to us.We can also offer our sufferings for the poor souls in purgatory who need most our prayer. Let us not be too blind and so focus on the things here on earth but to transcend them to a more and higher things which are heavenly things. Like the Saints let's strive to be holy and live a life for God. We can read and watch movies about their life.
