BD Telecommunication Regulatory Commission chairman Shahjahan Mahmood said that Facebook addiction has become an obsession, like digital cocaine addiction.
As in present, once the young generation enters Facebook, does not want to exit from there. There is a need for social innovation to overcome this situation, Shahjahan Mahmud told.
The BTRC chairman came up with the measurement at a discussion on Role of telecommunication sector in the country's convocation from the LDC group to a advance country at the BTRC conference room on Sunday.
He also said that internet has reached everyone's hands through mobile phones. after all, it is depressing that the young generation is not becoming creative by surfing the internet on mobile phones. It's been noticed that young people are mostly chatting on Facebook which is not a creative use, the BTRC chief said.
He also said that BTRC has taken a few ambition to secure the internet. They will propose very soon for making any preparation for the creative user of the internet. If the operators offer a special rate for the use of Facebook as well as another rate for creative use, then they may try to gather knowledge alternately of using Facebook.
BTRC has submitted a proposal to the government for building a laboratory to provide more cyber security to the people. If the government accept, it is not just security but different new services can be tested prior to offering people as they get the best competence.
