When you see the familiar triple-headed green snake of the Razer logo, the first thing you probably think of are their ultimate gaming accessory line, LED keyboards, or their polished gaming laptops. The last thing you'd imagine would be a smartphone. It was recently announced that Razer is working on a new Android smartphone. In this article I'll be going over the specs, price, release date and much more.
According to Razer's website, the new phone will have a Snapdragon 835 processor, one of the best performing processors in the world at the moment. It'll have a dual 12MP camera on the rear and a stereo front facing speaker, built in with Dolby Atmos. The most impressive attribute of this phone, however, would have to be the amazing Ultramotion display. It's one of the most brightest and responsive displays ever to be found on a smartphone. It has a 5.7 inch display, with a 72% screen-to-body ratio. The resolution is 1440 x 2560 pixels, with 515 ppi density. Although the screen is an LCD, and not an OLED like other highly competitive smartphones in the market like the iPhone X and Galaxy Note8, it can still be very bright, and will be able to display very vibrant colors.
Quick Facts:
• 8GB RAM
• Dual 12MP cameras
• Dual LED flash
• Fingerprint sensor the edge
• Fast charging compatible
• Only available color will be black
• Release date: November 17th
• 4000 mAh battery
• No headphone jack
• Running Android 7.1.1 (Nougat)
• Aluminum body
• 8MP front facing camera
• 64GB of memory
• Starting at a price of $699
Although the phone will only be available in one color, a plain matte black, there are rumors of a special edition that instead of having a black body and a silver logo, it will have the familiar glowing green logo on the back instead.
It doesn't look too different from the standard model besides the logo, so there's not much of a difference, but at least it's better than the regular silver. Pre-orders have already started, on November 1st, and the official release date is November 17th.
