The generation of today is highly dependent on social media. It's the morning's first thing in our mind and the night's last thing. Some might say that we're not paying our surroundings enough attention. We miss out on our life's precious moments. I'm going to talk about how we're addicted to social media and how it affects us.

Lack of Communication Skills

It's never been easier to talk to someone. We keep in contact with family and friends, even though they are in different countries. Social media allows us to maintain a strong long-distance relationship with the other significant ones. You should share your emotions and thoughts properly and post them for all to see.

However, in all this, we can be so caught that we lose time for what's around us. People have problems concentrating on work, communicating at social gatherings with individuals. All of this makes us antisocial. If none of your friends are online, you can feel lonely and depressed.

Lowers Your Self-Esteem

Seeing various celebrities on the internet and their glamorous lifestyles could reduce your self-esteem. You might start thinking you're not good enough. You're not getting enough clothing. Your clothes and accessories don't look good just because they don't have expensive brand names on them. You could spend all your time and money on getting a good photo for more.

It can have horrible effects on your mental health if you feel this way. You should remember that there is no one around you in a couple of years. You have only digital friends and followers that can lead to depression.

Feelings of Jealousy

In your mind, seeing your spouse or partner with other people may raise some questions. Are they only friends? Are they coworkers? How are they knowing each other? Or maybe you are not paying as much attention to your significant other.

It is very unhealthy for your mind to always be jealous and in doubt. You are not going to be able to focus on work or other important things. All this could lead to a downward spiral in your relationship.

Constant Need for Validation

A friend of yours has four thousand followers. There's another five thousand. You've just got a few hundred. You're trying to do things they're doing, you're going out of your way to getting a few more fans. No matter how many fans you have, they're never going to be enough. You're just going to want more.

You will be addicted to getting praise from other men. If you fail to make the people closest to you happy in fact. Such likes and comments can give you temporary satisfaction, but never really will make you happy.

It's not bad to have good social media status. It is good to interact more often with people; it makes them feel closer to you. But, if you let social media affect the way you think and how you live, you can never be happy.
