Curiosity (rover) Mars Landing - Investigation of the Martian Climate

in techno •  8 years ago  (edited)

NASA's most advanced Mars rover named Curiosity traveled eight-and-a-half-months from Earth to Mars. Everyone was nervous that the rover would crash, but luckily the rover landed successfully on the surface of Mars.

In 2012, I worked at the Bradbury Science Museum at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) located in Los Alamos, New Mexico. The Laboratory is known for the fabrication of the first atomic bombs. The museum highlights the history of the Lab (LANL). Los Alamos National Laboratory had a major role in the development of the Rover due to an instrument on Curiosity called the ChemCam.

That evening after the landing, I recorded a speech talking about the landing of Curiosity on Mars. I run a podcast called BANGING TECHNO sets* and decided to throw down a mix for one of our shows. I integrated the speech throughout the TECHNO mix by @tastetwist. Chunks of that speech are in the 1st hour of:

I created this video loop to be displayed at the Albuquerque New Mexico airport. The commercial promoted the exhibit at the Los Alamos museum. The laser is the 'ChemCam' that is part of Curiosity rover.
