CYBERTECHNOLOGY- MACHINE IN MAN

in technology-trail •  7 years ago

Cybernetics as its preferably called, mostly seen is sci-fi movies, but what we do not know is that this process exists for real. Though is it a technology involving the internet and the web (Cyberspace). But here is a more elaborate meaning of cybertechnology from Shadowrun Wiki:

Cybertechnology is the field of technology that deals with the development of Artificial devices or machines that can be surgically implanted into a humanoid form to improve or otherwise augment their physical or mental abilities

Since the word gained popularity in the 90s, when digital communication was evolving into something huge like we have today, it is more than just a notional environment in which computer networking and communications occurs; It has improvised into taking shapes!

The many broader applications of Cybertechnology includes software engineering, Digital forensics, Cyber Security, Management and Cybertechnology in Human; which the products in human case are called “Cyberwares”. For specifications, we want to look at the Cybertechnological aspects in human i.e. part human part Robots or Cyborgs.

CYBERWARE CATEGORIES

To improve humanity, especially giving hope to those who had lost hope, Cyberwares is been used to treat war veterans, accident victims and so on. Bodywares, Headwares and Limbs (Cyber-limbs) are the grouping of Cybertechnology when it comes to Humanoid entities.

Like the names implied, bodywares and headwares are Cybertechnological devices that can be installed in any part of the upper body, while cyberlimbs are more advanced ones because various components can be attached to the limbs e.g. sliders or wheels, which can be installed in bulk or pieces depending on the specification of the subject involved.

APPLICATIONS

HEADWARES

These are wearables that are synthesized to fit in the head of any subject. Mostly War Vets and some special accident victims benefits from this: those who had lost some part of their bodies in explosions or firefights while serving their Countries. Devices which can be installed includes artificial eyes, nose, ears, jaws, teeth, (Metallic or Aluminium) Skulls, Necks etc.

BODYWARES

The upper parts of the body excluding the head where arms, ribs, spines, chest, abdomen, fingers, shoulders, packs can be fixed to replace the damaged ones with improvised cybertechnological ones are referred to as Bodywares.

LIMBS (CYBERLIMBS)

Thigh, legs, feet, toe fingers, heel etc. are grouped in this category. This is the most complicated parts of cyberwares in human as they can have sophisticated equipment and external Cyberwares fixed to them as modifications e.g. lasers, hovering mechanisms, wheels and so on.

DOWN SIDES

  • Complications is one factor to be considered in combining Man with Machines. A human body is limited to some level of stress, so installation of too much artificial materials can be fatal to the body system.
  • Malfunctioning is another huge threat, any failure in installation will lead to devices to function poorly.
  • It can be extremely expensive especially in Cybermancy procedures.

Thanks mate, hope you read through to the end.

I am always thinking about Deus Ex when I see pics like this.

LOL!......it is real, seen where they used it on some of the victims of Boston Marathon bombing.....

Technology will surely make the futuristic scifi world to migrate into real world.
