Order and simplicity is everything- TOP 5 Hospitality Property Management Software!

in technology •  6 years ago

Traditionally, commercial real-estate firms have relied on technology, in some cases, as archaic as the brand itself. But the time has come that these companies reinvent themselves and take charge in the ever-growing field of technology. Here’s an Introduction to the new wave of property management systems.

Technology is not the first thing that pops in your head when you think of commercial real estate, but it seems these days everyone is getting with the times and the commercial real estate is no slouch. When it comes to hotels anyone can sell a bed. The experience, at the end of the day, is really what they’re selling. That’s why more and more hotels are turning to new revolutionary property management systems ensuring a smooth experience from check-in to check-out for employees and guests alike. These systems are managing duties of employees more efficiently, while simultaneously helping hotels keep more of their revenue.

For hotels, customer satisfaction is the name of the game. But the second most crucial element is productivity because without it, hotels can’t move forward. Therefore, more hotels are turning to new property management systems to help them work at the optimum efficiency. But when deciding what system works, hotels must weigh their options amongst competitors.

Here are a the TOP leading systems on the market today:

Cloudbeds pride themselves on 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year customer service. That’s all well and fine but how productive is technology if it’s as hard to use as trying to fly a spaceship. That’s where Cloudbeds take the cake, with their not one, but TWO Capterra Awards for Best Ease of Use. I guess that's the risk you have to take with a company that does not provide a demo prior to buying it. Another key aspect is real-time updates. This comes in handy for hotels and guests alike keeping everyone in the loop on the availability of specific rooms.

Guesty is a company that not only recognized the potential in the technology market but in the ever-growing Airbnb and Vacation Rental market. With their all-in-one, web and mobile application customers may manage inventory, sales, operations, and communication if you’re willing to suffer the growing pains of implementing new software. While there’s no wow factor in the layout and implementation is no breeze, at least Guesty gives you a demo prior to purchase to make sure this is the system for you.

AQUA may be the most diverse among leading competitors. Their main goal is to provide all the right tools to increase hotel productivity. Other PMS require multiple applications to operate their hotels; while AQUA offers all-in-one experience with all operations in one central easy to use location, providing unmatched productivity to their customers. By managing data for all operations in one location, AQUA was able to solve the problem of data silos that others face. AQUA is able to provide actionable suggestions to boost customer efficiency using AI and Machine Learning, while competitors require their customers to export data in order to find patterns. Finally, AQUAs use of the blockchain for secure cross-platform communication puts competitors old, slow and unsecured antiquated designs to shame. AQUA’s brand new aesthetically pleasing patented user interface bring the standards for the user experience to an all new high. They provide a demo before purchasing.

Amadeus aims to provide exceptional personalized guest experiences. They achieve this through their HotSOS technology. This is a cloud-based service optimization application. HotSOS features automated dispatch of tasks and guest requests in order to boost productivity and customer satisfaction. This helps staff stay connected in a real-time manner closing any gaps that could be presented. Finally, HotSOS builds profiles and personalized experiences based on guests history and preferences providing guests with the satisfaction they deserve. With no demo prior to purchase this could be a risky investment for any business.

With so many Property Management Systems on the market now it's hard to find major differences between them. Agilysys is all about brand exposure and increasing marketing channels for hotels. While Agilysys helps manage hotels with basic functionalities to help staff work more efficiently; they have a focus on travel agent integration. By collecting and using data provided by guests, Agilysys is able to find the best deals and preferences for customers. Once you get through the training and become comfortable with the platform, this could provide your hotel with the tools for an unparalleled experience without your guests breaking the bank.

Poor cloudbeds, no mobile accesibility :(

we're in the 21st century they're going doooown

I know it's sad, do they have a comments page lol

doesn't seem like they're technologically advanced enough ;)

ha you're rude LOL

Who is this benefiting?

maybe new time property owners who don't have it all figured out

Do you find this information useful?

not necessarily I only own one airbnb but if I ever decide to expand its nice to know this information is out there

are these the only property managemnt companies?

I think you can answer you own question...look at the title

haha true, maybe thats why I'm not the exec deciding what software my hotel uses

you work in a hotel?

ya at the front desk and I'm just so fed up with the old system we work with I wanted to see if there was anything else out there

Well this seems like a pretty good place to look, maybe you can refer your manager to this article

I wish my manager took me that seriously

anyone know which hotels use what software?

I don't think hotels really broadcast what systems they use, why?

Well just look at the chart on the bottom theres only one company that actually protects our data

oh man thats true thanks for pointing that out I never would have noticed

this day in age you really got to be careful about who's got a hold of your data

I'm a little confused is this for the hotels or for customers as well?

hotels duh, why would it be for guests

well it seems like a pretty good idea to have an app for the guests to know when and whats available

true, maybe one day they will...baby steps

Its funny some of these companies don't have demos

why is that funny?

just interesting that they can sell a product without someone testing it out first

I mean they made it to the top 5 list so they must be doing somethig right

true true but like would you ever buy a new video game without playing the demo

no, but everyone has their own preferences

different strokes for different folks

I can't tell do you think the writer has experience in property software?

I'm not ab expert but they seem to be hitting the main points

oh so now you're the expert

it doesn't take an expert to read a comparative article and come out with an educated opinion

listen all I'm saying is I would need to do alot more research if I was looking into this kind of software

Well that's probably the point of the article, to let people know whats out there

ok that we can agree on

Are these companies only targeting hotel chains and stuff?

Seems like thats where all the demand is

I work in a warehouse. I wonder if any of these applications could help keep the work place more organized

you should share this with you boss and maybe do some digging to see if any of these guys can help you

I just don't want to look stupid to my boss

If they can't accomodate warehouses you'll be a zero...but if they do you'll be a hero!

You think their logo has any correlation to the software design

You're doing the 1 thing your parents told you not to do, judge a book by its cover

no come on, these things are all about design and user friendliness

touche'

I don't know what it is that aqua blue just catches my eye

ya me too, and on paper they honestly look the best too

will blockchain be something that the hospitality industry will find useful? i can see the benefits but wondering if these major companies will see it as well.

anyone in the bizz have any insight?

A little bit why?

Well I own a few rental properties and I have my own personal property manager but it costs me a fortune

Oh buddy you've got to get with the times thats just bad business

tell me about it, but I feel bad

don't feel bad you want to make money right? I suggest you look into some of these companies it'll save you soooo much in the long run

thanks :)

This is why I use an alias at hotels

why, you think you're important?

no I just hate the idea of companies sharing my data for their own gains

Would you consider using your real name at a hotel with aqua software

I mean it would make me alot more comfortable, any idea what hotels use them?

I don't know, but I bet google does

How are some of these in the top 5?

what do you mean?

well guesty and agilysys look just absolutely awful from instalation to funtionalities how did they make it in the top 5

maybe theres more than meets the eye

how can that be? maybe once this article really gets out there they'll become a thing of the past

aww thats not very nice

Why don't hotels just design their own software

I don't think it works like that

But wouldn't it be easier to taylor make a system that works

Well one of the comapanies was started by people in the industry

go on..

I looked into these aqua guys. They're pretty legit, all the founders come from a hotel background. These guys know the ins and outs of the business and it shows with how much they've put into the property managment software as you can see they blows all these other guys out of the water

do you have a link for them?

here you go! https://aquapms.com/

What does the chart mean when it says "live view" or "task management"

I'm no expert but I believe it refers to jobs and what not across the staff

What like hotels don't already have check lists and things to make sure everything gets done

No organization, no group can exist without communication. Internal communication is very important for any industry or business. It keeps employees informed on different topics, and is really helpful for the client focused industry. Especially nowadays, when the chats apps and social media are replacing other types of communication.

Thanks for putting it into perspective

Are these systems for large hotel chains or would they be compatible with smaller boutique hotels

I'm sure they work on both levels, if they're top 5 I assume they lean more toward the larger scale but it can't hurt to do a little research

Well thats why I'm here, I'm a hotelier but more small scale operations. Because I travel so much to keep the business flowing I don't have much time to do all the research needed. I need something that will keep all my employees connected and on top of all their tasks to keep guest satisfaction high constantly. I'd really like something that would work across several properties as well it would just make my life much easier and it wouldn't require me to have to pay for so much training.

Well it seems like Amadeus or Aqua are the systems for you!

Thanks i'll look into them

With so many options out there how could anyone possibly decide which is best

Well that's the reason they provide demos

Ya but that's not always helpful, I mean sure you get to see the lay out but you won't really know what it's like until it's fully implemented

I'm sure you can figure out through their different websites or reviews to find the system thats best for you

oh man, I guess it'll be a long day

it will man! haha
