Augmented Reality (AR) Is Going To Change The World - AND Your Vision

The Start Of Augmented Reality (AR)

Augmented reality is only just beginning to take off. Try to imagine what your late 90's or early 2000 desktop computer looked like. Mine looked like a giant tan cardboard box, which collected much dust. Today we have sleek looking smartphones that are exponentially more powerful and can easily fit into our pockets. We also can't FUNCTION normally in society without them. They are used for so many different tasks it is unreal. Perhaps one day you will not be able to function normally in society without some sort of augmented reality in place to aid you in your daily objectives.

As of right now, I believe that AR is like my old "cardboard box" computer. It is just beginning, and looks a bit ugly. In the future AR will be used alongside everything. You will be able to attend meetings (star wars style), evaluate potential houses and infrastructure, create artwork, participate in video gaming, watch movies, view hidden content, problem solve, and possibly have the power of the entire internet in your vision.

In the not too distant future I believe that AR will be used by most people and will be completely engrained in our social routine as a society. It will become our new "iphone" or "Android Phone".

Check out this futuristic video of how reliant we could become on augmented reality. This video is just to cause you to think and imagine what kind of things will be possible.

If you think that having AR vision is too far off into the future, think again. We have already developed contact lenses that allow you to see an augmented reality, and they will only get better as time goes on. The rocket is taking off, and will reach its destination faster than most people believe. As of right now, the commercial AR contact lenses are not as technologically advanced as they will be, but you may still be able to get your hands on some if you so desired.

Here is a short video that will give you some insight into the contact lenses.

I think AR will be what people thought VR would have been.

I think the big question is would we be better off with this technology?

For example, there have been times I would absolutely love to send a tiny drone into a tree to cut a branch that is in the way of the sun coming into the house.

That may benefit from AR, as it would be far too risky to produce a machine like that, that we can't have complete control over.

That essentially would be like having a detached floating limb that can fly around and act like a hand.

Do we want this sort of progress?

Do we need it?
