Phones we loved - weird models mostly

in technology •  7 years ago  (edited)

I'm 31. It's hard to admit, but now I can say "in my time...".

During the late 90's, there was an incredible progress in technology.
The phones became smaller, lighter, with better displays and with unusual designs that fascinate me even today, almost 20 years later.

Let's the nostalgia begins:

Siemens S-10 from 1998
One of the first phones with the color screen

Bosch 909 Dual S, from 1999
It was made of metal and so cool when you touch it

Philips Genie
with incredible, animated manues

Ericsson T-28s, 1999
The best phone

Ericsson R-310 from 2000
Covered with the rubber and capable to withstand everything

Sagem 959 (939, 922...) from the same year
probably the best buy in that time

Mitsubishi Trium Cosmo
How not to like it?

(

Mitsubishi Trium Mondo (2000)
Younger generations will recognize this one as the phone

Ericsson R-380
The object of my desire

Ericsson T66 (2001)
One of the lightest phones ever, only 59 g!

Sorry for non including Nokia phones, those are simply well known.
I wanted to share the quirky representatives of this wild world.

We (my family) had an Erikson

They were making very solid phones. I remember the model 388, with the metal frame. It could be used as the hammer, literally, I have seen it with my own eyes. In comparison with that phone, Nokia 3310 is not tough at all
