Water Problems, Our Future?

in technology •  7 years ago

Hello everyone short text before i start with the Topic, one of my recent post "Solar Energy, Our Future?" gained a lot of attention. So basically i thought about making maybe a daily or weekly blog about Our Future. Today i will talk about a really important Topic "Water scarcity" Enjoy Todays Post and see you in one of my next blogs or drawings c:

Maybe some of you thought already about a really important and intereseting Topic. Everyone knows it, everyone needs it ! WATER! Water is really important for us Human.

But maybe you never thought about running out of water? The human population keeps raising and raising. That leads to a higher water use. But where is the problem, 2/3 of the earth is covered with water? But the problem is that only around 2.5% of the water on our earth is drinkable the rest of it ( around 97%) is salt water.

What does that mean?
When we look at the water use of an average person we can see that its way to high.
In the USA the water use of one Person is at around 300 Liter per day. In Germany its around 124 Liter.

What can i do?
What can you do. As an example, you could reduce the time of showering. Some people shower up to 30 mins. Maybe you could use for watering the flowers, the water you collected through the rain

What could we do to gain more drinkable water?
There are already methods to filter salt water and make it drinkable, they are still under develop but its a step foraward. A step foraward to our future. Its even possible for private people to filter rain water and make it drinkable. But at the moment an upgrade for a private house is really expensive. There excist some companies which sell a product to make your own sparkling water.

Can we solve all the problems and never run out of water?
Maybe one day we might run out of water. But there is a lot of research how to gain or produce or filter water. I think it will be possible for us and we will have for a long time water.
