Apple Music against Spotify: historical overtaking in the USA. Subscribe above 28 million

Apple Music owns more Spotify subscribers , at least in the US. The news comes directly from the latest report produced by The Wall Street Journal which came into possession of truly exciting numbers for the music streaming service of the Cupertino company. According to the American newspaper Apple Music would count at least 28 million users against the 26 million of Spotify.

The Cupertino company would therefore have succeeded in increasing its confidence in users who now prefer its service to that of Spotify. There would be 2 million more users for the Cupertino company with a much higher monthly growth rate for Apple Music than for Spotify.

On the other hand Spotify would still have the advantage of its users registered to its service but using a Free account which in Apple Music is not possible to realize. A battle to the last user that surely can do well for the market in the future especially for any new promotions coming. In India, Apple has decided to cut the prices of its monthly Music services precisely because of the arrival of Spotify in the territory. Who knows if the same thing happens in other countries of the world.

In the world, Spotify in December said it had 207 million active users, of which 96 million paying. Apple , which does not offer an advertising-based service, had over 50 million. According to the WSJ, Apple would have had to overtake on Spotify over six months ago but the company has intensified competition with a series of initiatives including a subscription formula that includes the Hulu video streaming service.
