Synology announces the RackStation RS819 NAS , the first in the Value series that offers the possibility of taking snapshots. The Synology RackStation RS819 offers 4 racks in 1U rack format with a depth of less than 12 inches (30 cm).

Designed for low-budget workgroups, the Synology RackStation RS819 offers a 64-bit quad-core processor paired with 2GB of DDR4 memory . This configuration allows for reading performance of over 224 MB / s with encrypted data. The capacity of the NAS can be expanded beyond 4 rooms using the RX418 expansion unit, which brings the maximum capacity of the system to 112 TB .
The NAS uses the DiskStation Manager operating system , based on Linux : this allows it to use the Btrfs file system , which can support up to 4096 system snapshots and 256 snapshots per folder . This allows you to have advanced backup management and more control over data protection.
The RackStation RS819 uses 256-bit AES encryption , which is the highest security standard for data: shared folders and data transmitted over the network are encrypted to prevent unauthorized access to data.
