Soon you could load your smartphone with your own body

Your body is a great battery and the scientists want it to charge your mobile devices.
Nowadays the battery capacity that characterizes a smartphone has become of vital importance. Having a smart device in our hands is as common as going to the bathroom, so having durability and performance are two basic aspects to take into account when purchasing any product.

There have already been talk of multiple methods through which people could generate power without the need to resort to an ordinary charger. However, the possibility of being able to charge a device with our own body ... yes is a novelty worthy of note.

Imagine that you are in the middle of nowhere; In an island, a forest or, without putting us romantic, in the middle of the traffic without a charger at hand, but with the possibility of using your body as a source of energy, but what implications would that have to happen ?, how could it become actually? For years, our devices have become smaller and faster, but the problem of the battery has not been able to solve despite all the technological progress we already have. It is a reality that batteries are the backbone of any electronic system.

That a device is good is directly proportional to the performance of the battery, reason why the companies have been committed to improve the capacity; However, we have seen some technological scandals in which certain devices have exploded or caused unfortunate incidents, so it is not a simple matter.
One solution that might be feasible is to charge the devices with only kinetic energy or movement and the heat of our bodies. Of course, we will still have to wait a long time to detach ourselves from our shippers, but scientists around the world are already working on this along with some companies.

Another ideal option is that the devices generate energy by themselves without the need to look for a charger that provides external power. Dina EI-Damak, professor of electrical engineering at the University of Southern California, said:

"If the device is based on batteries, replacing them, will require surgery, so providing operations for medical devices is a great advantage that may not have negative consequences on people's lives."
The teacher bases her research on the environment and health. Of course, companies will look to this alternative in devices such as wearables or smartphones, but Professor EI-Damak prefers to look for advantages in the medical sector, which could benefit from gadgets such as pacemakers that multiple patients require to monitor health and that They always have to be looking for a charger for the battery.

For many researchers, the best source of energy is body heat and thermoelectric generation; The latter works because our bodies are always at different temperatures, if we take into account the environment and the anatomical interior. The difference of both temperatures is the one that generates energy that could put some devices in operation.

There is still nothing certain, nor any certainty, but it is a fact that using our body to fill our devices with energy could be just around the corner. In addition, it is interesting to see such strategies emerge in fields as fundamental as medicine.
