Loosing important data like photos, documents, music and other essential things can be devastating, thats why am giving out this tech tips to help you back up on every front. Its all about back up so lets dive right in. Just an advise , do back ups for your friends and family too to avoid irregular calls and you just never know, they always have something that comes in handy someday.
Will be splitting this into different categories like documents and text, music, images, passwords, contacts and even launchers.

Documents and Text
The cloud is a good way to store your documents and texts and google has made it really easy with all the services they provide(my personal favorite). Once you have a google account you have access to 15gb of storage on google drive which gives you the elegibility to use google docs or sheets and google keep. the former for your docs and the later for your notes. they are all easy to use applications.
If you would rather avoid the cloud, getting an external hard drive is never a bad idea, just ensure you have your data in two or more storages.

Photos and Music
Apple users have access to Icloud which makes things a lot easier so go ahead and activate cloud storage.
When it comes to saving images you cant help but love google photos, not only does it offer back up of high res images for life, its and amazing app to use and would recommend no other for now.
Spotify does a pretty good job saving up music for you, you dont have to download this songs as theres a lot on board already , so hop in and make use of these service.
Having an external drive for this is a big big plus, i personally have 2tb of storage dedicated to my music and photos.

Passwords
The amount of passwords the modern internet user has to remember is a lot for some , thats why passwords make the list.
Personally i save my passwords on google keep, mostly because i use google keep a lot but if you dont like it and want everything organized, i recommend 1Password and keepass, they are available on android and Ios, download and enjoy. who has their blockchain wallet Id in their memory? you need this.

Contacts
You are your contacts, of what good are those you know if you cant reach them?
always ensure your contacts are safe as often as possible. As an android user ensure that your contacts are always saved to an active google account, you contacts can be accessed from your gmail when you do this, on Ios , ensure to enable regular contact back up on Icloud so you have access to them even when you device is inaccessible.
If Internet access is an issue then from the options menu in your contacts app, create a contact file then transfer it to an external storage device. you can go the extra mile by having a contact book, theres no harm in being safe all round.

Launchers
As an android user, launchers will always be part of you life and one would love to bring their customizations with them to a new device, sadly not all launches do amazing jobs here, but am sure this two do as i personally use them, Action launcher and Nova launcher, with nova being my long time favorite, you can always backup and go places with it.

In summary , consistently making backups is not a simple thing to do but its definitely the right thing to do , so go ahead and do the right thing, you can explore the app store or play store and find apps that do well in this area, start 2018 backed up on every front then have an exciting year were you don't have to worry about lost data.

Try using third party backup apps, there may be some open source apps to help. I used to have android backup pro. Or DR PHONE on my laptop to backup all my devices. You may consider having a DropBox account or OneDrive to keep your files..Happy new year bro #steemit9ja

Glad it was helpfull

Good post, I like the fact you took time to tell what to backup, I made it a tradition to always backup my files since my first phone was stolen and I couldn't recover anything from it.

Today I have pictures and contacts from 2015, all thanks to google drive.

It's a cloud backup that I can recommend at anyday or time as it has proven useful. Getting it is easy and also registering it takes only having a Google mail.

Once you are registered, accessing your backed up files is as easy as checking your device for files. Click here for more.

Thanks

Just a suggestion, you should link those website such as 1Pass to their website. This will make user easier to navigate on that certain web.

I like Google drive. I have been able to store many information and details there. I am thinking about subscribing to more data space for storage in the future for safekeeping of details.

these days its not just money we store o, nice initiative
