Facebook All Set To Launch New ‘Dating’ Feature: How it Works?. Facebook is all set to launch the new feature called ‘dating’. The CEO Facebook Mark Zuckerberg has declared about the introduction of dating feature during Facebook’s annual F8 developer conference in San Jose, California.
Facebook will have the dating feature on the app later this year. The Facebook dating feature will let the users to create a dating profile and match with potential love interests to the non-friends on the social media website. This Facebook dating feature will only be visible to non-friends who also opted into dating.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said,
“This is going to be for building real, long-term relationships — not just hook-ups,”
The dating feature will be within the Facebook app but it will be completely optional and opt-in only.
How Facebook dating feature works?
First after switching the dating feature you need to create a profile with your first name. Your dating profile will not be visible to friends and users who are not on dating feature. It will also not be visible in the News Feed.
You can here browse Events in your city and Groups that match your interests. If you want to see the profiles of other dating feature users you can select to “unlock” one for dating. Then you will be able to see the other dating users who’ve unlocked that surface.
You can find the information and picture of the user at his/her profile.
You’ll be shown people based on mutual interests and friends, plus other data Facebook has on you.
If the both users interested in dating they will be able to begin the conversation in a separate special box, detach from Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp.
