Computer programming is an enormously flexible tool, you can use to do amazing things that when done manually are just too cumbersome or impossible. If you are using a smartphone, a web browser or if you're still controlling your TV with the push of a button, then you must know that all these things are using some kind of programming. In fact programs are running your life. What if you turn the table round by learning to program, so you could run those programs according to your will?

Lots of people get into programming because they love the challenge, are excited by computers and want to build a career creating their own websites, mobile apps, games or desktop programs. Even if you have no goal of making a living from programming, it's still worth learning how to code. And I mean this with all seriousness. If computers are at all a part of your life then learning to code will definitely improve your life.
If you're reading this with either a smartphone or a PC, I advice that you get your hands on programming. Except you're reading this with a toaster then, and only then should you ignore this, else this article is for you!
For example you can write a program that can automate tasks for you. Have you ever wondered how cheetah bot, steemcleaners etc. are able to identify plagiarised contents here in steemit? Or how voting bots are able to alter their STEEM POWER and upvote all the accounts that placed a bid according to their bid value? Well they are programed to do so!

By learning to program does not necessary mean that you have the responsibility of creating the next Google or Steemit. No! Rethink a little a try to see what made these popular websites like Google, Facebook, Dropbox, Steemit and others come into existence.
There was a need! — someone lacked something and then took it as a challenge to address that thing because he had what it took. He knew there was a way to solve that problem and make things easier for himself and Others. Well if you are not ready to solve the world's next problems, you should solve yours at least.
Here are the reasons you should learn to code today.
1. Programming develops structured and creative thinking.

When programmers are faced with a huge problem to solve, they don't just jump in and start coding right away. They analyze and break down the problem into workable pieces and get on it. Do non programmers have this kind of approach towards problem solving? Very rare!
2. Programming makes things easier for you.

Programming makes things easier for you I've mentioned this initially but I'm mentioning it again because it's worth mentioning even a thousand times. You can control your electrical appliances using your smartphone. You can also write a simple program to help you in daily tasks in excel, file sorting etc.
3. Programming is fun doing.

Ever played chess on your computer? Ever wondered why your computer is smarter than you? Well it's programmed that way! It is programmed to make the right move on any possible move you can take.
How about you take it as a challenge and write your own program to outsmart others? With the knowledge of programming you can create your own tool and make your life simple, easier and fun living.
BONUS:
For those of you who were patient enough to read to the end, here's a bonus for you.
In my next post which will be made public in the next 24hrs. I will write a detailed article on how I intend to guide Steemit members through the basics of programming, by starting a class here in steemit.
Don't worry! As it's a free course for all members irrespective of their level/experience in programming. I'm not going to be promoting any sort of link or advertising ebooks for sale.
To stay in touch subscribe to my Steemit page by following @edywill to get tips and lectures you won't want to miss out. Thanks for reading.
