MINERVA-II1: Successful landing on asteriod Ryugu

in technology •  6 years ago  (edited)

MINERVA-II1 that separated from Hayabusa2 spacecraft (time of separation was 13:06 JST), is man's first mission to land on a celestrial object other than moon. MINERVA-II1 comprised of two rovers, which are meant for exploring the surface of asteroid Ryugu. Report from Japanese Space Agency, JAXA | Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, confirmed that at least one of the rovers is still on the surface of Ryugu. This is a big achievement as it is the first human-made object to ever land on the surface of the asteroid. The video feed of rovers showed show enthral images of landing on rover.
