There is a secret setting (that most modern smartphones have) you can use when-
- Your phone battery is too small.
- You're stuck in a place with no charging port.
- Battery is about to die.
- You're tired of putting your phone on charge everytime.
You can turn on Monochromacy/Grayscale/ black&white mode in your phone (Android and Iphone). Yes! there is a hidden setting in your phone that allows you to do that. You need to go to:
Settings>about phone>build number (tap on it 7 times). It will say "you are now a developer"
Go to developer options>simulate color space>monochromacy (Android Users)
Settings>about phone>MIUI version (tap on it 7 times). It will say "you are now a developer"
come out and click on additional settings>developer options>simulate color space>monochromacy (Xiaomi Users)
Settings>General>Accessibility>Display Accommodations> Color Filters> Turn it off (iPhone Users)
It requires no root and you can always turn the colour mode back on. Your battery lasts longer because It turns off the colour pixels majorly responsible for draining your battery. I tested it on my Redmi note 3 and the battery backup went up from 23 hours to 40 hours on the same usage. Don't forget to clean up all the apps running in the background especially Facebook as it's the most resource using app.
It's worth a trade-off when holding a black and white working phone than a dead one.
