State not meeting with dot rules for mobile towers

Telecom companies are facing problems in installing mobile towers in the states. This is due to the strict rules laid down by the states. The states have not yet been in sync with the rules of the telecom department in the context of mobile towers. Only five states - Haryana, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Kerala and Odisha - have tied up with the rules of the telecom department about the mobile tower. Apart from these, for any other telecom infrastructure, the rules of the right of their route have not been able to cope with the rules of the Department of Telecommunications.

Difficulties in installing tower
Tillak Raj Dua, Director General of the Tower and Infrastructure Providers Association (TAIPA) said, "This is causing huge problems in installing mobile towers and it is also affecting the quality of services. The Department of Telecommunications has made the policy of giving the route in November, 2016. Under this, there is a provision for not keeping any curb for the destination of telecom towers. In addition, it includes single window system, defined deadline for approvals, appointment of nodal officers, nominal administrative fees and accepted acceptance and full support to Digital India Mission.

The quality of the call will improve with the tower
Dua said that mobile tower companies are facing problems especially in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and Maharashtra. Dua said that some states have given us an opportunity to keep our point of view, while some others have not given any opportunity. If more and more mobile towers are installed in these states, then the quality of the call will improve.

Dua said that this action of the states is a part of the government's ambitious digital India, smart city and financial inclusion program. TAIIPA members include Bharti Infratel, ATC Towers, GTL Infrastructure, Reliance Infratel, Indus Towers and Tower Vision.
