And here's something else... if you don't happen to share their political worldview, they "monitor" you. You used to be able to see who was doing it but after they got caught, they changed the algorithm. I had 25 monitors at one time (one of them looked like a tranny who was about 75)

Wow! I knew FB was into collecting data about ppl but this is some scary stuff. It reminds me of how the NSA in the US collects online / telecom data on a global scale and has invaded the privacy of everyone from the average Joe like me to many world leaders (thanks Edward Snowden for exposing this years ago). I know in the case of FB they're probably doing most of it with the intent of generating advertising revenue but still it's concerning to say the least...
I'm still on FB but haven't been using it since I joined steemit as (some of) the content here is of a higher quality than that which one sees on FB and the average user seems a bit more intelligent, especially those who have been here awhile. You just have to know how to find good content here which isn't hard to do. I don't use FB much anymore as I find the content is often useless and dull in my opinion.

What do you think will happen to a users data after he quit facebook?, I deleted my account like a year ago and never tried to see if my data was still around, I hope at least is not visible but I wonder if a user can make them clean up all the user-belong or if they will clean it up automatically after a period of time

Your data never goes away from facebook. Even if you delete it. Sure datea never leaves the blockchain here on steemit but we chose to share what we do. Facebook just scoops up all the data it can than stores it in a massive warehouse where you cant see all the data they do have on you.

I provide FB with very little these days, I rarely use it. When I was using it, I provided very little info no school, no job, no location, no relationships, fake birthdays, etc.
However, I do realize that their facial recognition software is probably able to collect a lot more info than we think. At some point FB started to creep me out as they were attempting to identify people who do not have accounts and would make estimations as to their identities. Super creepy.

Man, it's crazy how much we allow these big companies to know about ourselves, anonymity online is becoming less and less existent. At least here on steemit when we share we are seeing something in return in the form of steem. With facebook they just hoard our data and sell it to the highest bidder when the time is right. They have no limits it seems, they just keep pushing them too.
