BOSE QC35 - The perfrect travel companion

in technology •  7 years ago

I spend a lot of time listening to music and traveling for work - sometimes I even do them together! I have tried a lot of different headphones over the years, but I can safely say these are by far the best I've tried. They come in silver or black, I went with the silver as I think they have a better aesthetic appeal. I managed to convince 2 of my friends to depart with over $400 AUD of their hard earned cash based on a recommendation as well!

In the box:

BOSE always ensure they give you everything you need, and the QC35's are no different. You are supplied with a fantastic hard carry case which contains an airplane adapter, 3.5mm audio cable (in case you run out of battery), micro-usb charging cable and of course the QC35's themselves. They headphones fold away nicely as in the image above.

How to they feel?

One word - Amazing! QC - short for QuietComfort is exactly the way I would describe these cans. The ear cup is supple, and fits perfectly over the ears for long term comfort. They have a tight fit for noise cancelling, but do not have the feeling of pressure or the "pinch" to the side of the head. The active noise cancelling is best in class, and the battery life in my experience is around 16 hours at moderate volume.

How do they sound?

Thanks to the noise cancelling mentioned above, you will hear nothing but the source you are connected to. I'm used to hearing a significant drop in quality with wireless headphones, but there is not even a hint of this in the QC35's. In fact, I would go so far as to say they sound better when being used wireless than they do plugged in via my FiiO headphone amplifier. I would consider myself an Audiophile, but not quite at the "purist" level and these headphones, to me sound better than anything else I have tried in this price range.

Should I buy these?

If you want a no fuss, easy to use experience with the peace of mind that there have been thousands of hours of R&D put into development - the short answer is yes. These retail at $499 AUD, but I have seen them for $400 AUD through Australian retailers, and even less via grey import.
